Kiri gaped at her. "What the-"

"Shh!"she hissed,"she might hear us!"

"The heck?!" Kiri said indignantly in a hushed whisper. "Why didn't you tell me before?"

"Cause,"she couldn't think of an excuse,"off we go."

"Alright, fine," Kiri said. He had a secret too, however, one that he was even less eager to reveal.

Leslie's eyes glowed blood red as she scanned for a place to stay.
"There are Monster slayers. Let's go with them. I need to hide my wings and we will be fine." -
"There's something I haven't told you too," Kiri said. "Please don't hate me for this."
He focused, and from his back, two brilliant golden angel wings unfurled. -
"Wait-you're an angel? And no I don't hate you but the monster slayers are gonna kill us. Not a good idea,"she concluded

"At least we can't hide anything from each other,"she added,"promise to tell me everything? I'll be honest in return."

Kiri sighed. "Fine. I can try."
He glided on his own, his wings glowing softly and lighting their way. -
After they flew for a while, she said worriedly,"My wings are a little tired but, we are almost out of the forest.Is it a good idea to go to the city?"

Kiri sighed. "Now that you and I reek of our own magic: no. But it's better than here."

"I agree," she said.
She found a note in her pocket from her murdered parents. She read it silently then gasped.
"Kiri, what is your last name?"Leslie asked quietly. -
"Steelborn," he said nervously. "Why?"

"Um not to freak you out but," she started a little nervous," you know my murdered parents? They were killed by a member of the Steelborn family. I have got nothing against you but…"
