"No, Westy, don't!" Easter pleaded with him. "They'll hit you!"
-
"but they have to stop wrestling somehow!" Wester pitifully shouted with tears in his eyes
-
"They will, just DON'T go," Easter said.
-
"Then Why don't we go..." Wester said pausing to think "to the park!" Wester shouted with a scared face. He knew his parents would start throwing things if he went back.
-
"The park?" Easter said. "Okay!"
-
Wester held out his hand for Easter to hold while they walked through the snow filled landscape of the north
-
Easter held Wester's hand tightly. She felt like it was just them against the world, two little kids with parents that didn't love them.
-
(their father actually does love them, but their mother might as well be Norman's mom)
Wester gripped Easter's hand tight while he led them through the barren landscape to a small playground set. -
Oh, okie))
"Swings!" Easter said, clambering onto one. -
Wester sat on the swing next to Easter and wondered what would be in store when he went back home.
-
Easter pumped her legs back and forth to start swinging.
-
Wester just sat. He wondered if running away was the way to stop wrestling matches at home.
-
"Do you think Mom and Dad will ever stop playing redder face?" Easter said. "I thought it was a fun game at first, but I'm sick of it now."
-
"I'm sure they will someday, maybe when the war ends." Wester said
-
"Yeah, maybe," Easter said gloomily.
