"Probably. He is faulty after all," the man replied. "Thank you for your cooperation."
He lead Ios away, and the latter sadly gazed back, until he was out of sight. -
Arabella shut the door and walked to her bedroom. She sat there for a long time thinking if she had done the right thing. Finally, she fell into a fitful sleep.

Ios was lead to a tube pod, and the two shot off towards the place. When they entered, he saw many other robots, but none of them seemed to have any...mind. Ios thought and felt, but they only worked.

The next day Arabella to get up for school. She walked alone on the side of the road. For some reason she felt like there was this hole in her heart that she couldn’t get rid of.

"I don't like it here," Ios said nervously. The man laughed coarsely.
"Too bad. You're gonna be just like one of them!" he said, pointing at the robots. Ios watched them in horror. -
As Arabella entered the school she saw several of the students cast glares at her as she walked past. Suddenly she felt something sharp hit the back of her head and looked down to see a rock. Arabella turned around to see who had thrown it and saw one of her used-to-be friends holding a bag of them. “FREAK!” The girl yelled before running off. Arabella just walked to her locker and got her necessities for her first class, Biology. “When will things stop being so horrible?” She asked herself sadly as she sat in the very back of the classroom. Things were not looking up for Arabella.

Ios dismally followed the man to a holding room, where other robots were. He was placed down and the metal door was triple locked.
He looked around at the robots, who stole glimpses of him with masked intrigue. Suddenly, one of them couldn't help theirselves, and leaned closer.
"What does the world look like now?" she said. "It's been so long since I've seen it."
So Ios launched into a full description of it, even projecting a few videos he had taken. The other robots watched with awe and wonder. -
As class went on Arabella’s attention turned to Ios. Was he safe? Would she ever see him again? Arabella slouched down in her chair. Suddenly she felt someone poke her in the shoulder. She turned to her right and saw a boy with chestnut hair and gray eyes staring back at her. “What do you want?” She asked irritably.

Ios looked around at the other thoughtful robots with a sad expression. Soon, that sad expression turned to defiance.
"We're going to escape this place," Ios said. They all gaped at him.
"How?" they asked.
"Don't worry, I'll figure something out. Just trust me," he reassured them. -
“You’re the girl Melinda called a freak. Why?” He whispered. Arabella turned away. “If you want to talk about that then don’t talk to me at all.” She said gruffly.

Later, when the door opened to take one of the robots away, they all acted still and mindless, as if they had been deactivated. When they were being carted to the scrap heap, Ios overrode the containment switch and they all simultaneously jumped out and headed for the woods.
Most were the same kind as Ios, and they all carried or assisted the other more handicapped robots. Ios wanted to see Arabella again, but knew that in doing so, he'd endanger her and everyone else.

Kristy was a nobody. A background person. Suddenly, the TVs at her school blared the emergency warning signal.
"There has been a massive mechanical breakout," they reported. "A group of superintelligent robots have escaped and are suspected to be roaming around the premises. Please be cautious. If you spot one, please call this number..." -
Arabella jumped from her seat when she heard the announcement. “Ios.” She whispered. “Whose Ios?” The boy beside her asked but Arabella ignored him and bolted from her classroom. If she could find Ios maybe that meant she could have her only friend back. “I have to get him back.” She kept saying, over and over. But what Arabella didn’t realize was that the same boy was following her.

Ios had visited the woods before, so he easily navigated the area, carrying a wheeled robot on the way. He found a suitable hiding place for them all and reactivated his full capabilities, reactivating the others as well.

Kristy heard a girl yell "Ios!" and take off. Not knowing what else to do, she followed her. That girl was onto something. -
Arabella noticed two pairs of footsteps behind her and turned to see the boy and a girl following behind her. “Who are you and why are you following me!?” She yelled angrily.

Ren steppes forward as the girl yelled at him. “I’m Ren Andrews, you?” He said nonchalantly. He knew who the girl was and was told to keep an eye on her in case she decided to try and steal her robot, Ios, as she calls him, back. -
"I'm Kristy Steelborn," Kristy said. "I know you must be up to something. I just want to know what it is."
