Everyone was brought into a small meeting room with one table. At the front of the room was a projector and screen. On the table was five cards and five notebooks for everyone. The cards had their names on them so it was obvious where to sit. Once all were seated, a scientist came in and said "Good morning, agents. Or as close to morning as we can get on this Earth. In this meeting we shall go over the various parts of the mission and what is needed to be done. If you will flip over the card with your name on it, you will see the part you play in this mission."
-
I dunno what to make mine)
Andromeda looked down at her card and flipped it. 'Medical Aid'. She wasn't very surprised. She turned her card back over and slid it in front of her. -
(It should say what your character's team role. Or something similar.)
-
Okay, thanks)
-
Marcy looked at her card. "Fighter..." She mumbled, gulping. Even though she was fairly strong, she didn't like much violence, and she didn't feel quite up to the task.
-
Dion flipped his card and saw "fighter" in large block letters. He sighed in relief. This really could've gone either way; he'd signed up to be a fighter but if they looked into his record they could've decided he'd be better suited to be a scientist. Dion looked around the table at everyone else's roles. He saw that Marcy was a fighter too and gave her a thumbs up.
-
Both Alex's and Calista's cards said "Scientist" The scientist then turned on the projector to show slides as he talked and said "Okay, that word on your cards tells you what your role is in this mission. I shall explain them now. Healer: The healer's job, unsurprisingly, is to be in control of all medical supplies and apply first aid when needed. They will be given two standard first aid kits and a pack full of various medical supplies for any situation. If at anytime a healer is killed, any member, no matter the role, may take the role as healer. Fighter: A fighter's job is to make sure both the healers and scientists are protected from whatever creatures are outside the domes. They will be given various weapons of their own choice but must only carry three long range weapons and one melee weapon to reduce weight. If you are this class, you must be willing to give your life for the others. Scientist: The most important role in the team, they must be protected at all costs. Scientists are responsible for carrying and deploying a weapon known as the TitianKiller. These bombs are the only things that can kill the Titians so if lost, they must be retrieved back no matter what. Otherwise, Earth is doomed."
(Sorry for the big exposition dump but I figured you guys deserve an explanation. Fair warning, this probably won't be the only one.) -
No, it's fine, I need explanations to survive ;_;)
Andromeda nodded, listening attentively. She didn't want to accidentally blank out and miss some crucial piece of information. -
Marcy only really paid attention to the fighter bit. Give her life? This whole situation seemed to be getting more terrifying by the second.
-
Dion listened to this all and got more amped with every word this scientist was saying. Dion could only imagine how amazing it would be to go all out and stretch his legs, to run to his limit and be as fast as possible. There was so much space outside these walls.
-
Alex nodded, understanding his role. The scientist then continued "Now that the roles are out of the way, I must explain your primary objective. You are to travel to the four domed cities that house the last remains of human kind and plant the TitianKiller bombs on the heads of the Titians. Once this is done, when next Apocalypse Sky happens, the bombs will automatically set off and cause and explosions so grand that the Titians will suffer fatal brain injuries and die. The Titians are named Thanatos, Limos, Resheph and Nirrti. Nirrti is nearby, only 50 miles away from reaching us. A bit of a long journey on foot, which is why you will be given several modes of transportation."
-
Andromeda thought of what the transports could be. If it was anything but a speed chaser, she'd have no problem controlling it. If it was a speed chaser...well, that was another story.
-
"Bombs? On their heads?" Marcy asked. She wasn't sure she wanted to get that close to an explosive or a titan.
-
"Don't worry doll, we'll be fine," Dion assures Marcy. He was less afraid of bombs and more psyched to finally end the titian reign of terror. Already he could picture it; people actually being able to go outside and continue humanity. Studying and learning, writing and exploring.
-
The scientist said "Yes, do not worry. The explosions are not large enough to completely obliterate the Titians. Just enough to create a hole in their heads that are fatal. Think of it like shooting something in the head. The modes of transportation include an all-terrain rover that can move at a speed of 70 miles per hour. This rover can also split into two speed cycles if necessary, both capable of holding three people. Also, because the Titians are so spread out on the planet and air travel is not an option, there will be boats designed to carry you and the rover to the next continent to find the next Titian. Moving on to your defenses, each of you will be given a GX42 model armored hazmat suit. These will protect you from most of the creatures from outside the domes, but you may not be attacked too often as some of the creatures can't seem to recognize you as human with these on. As I said before, fighters do most of the defense but that doesn't mean everyone will be unarmed. Everyone, regardless of class will be given a small electro pistol that fires 12 amps of electricity as a bullet. Good enough to deter most monsters."
