"The day before that?" Imogen asked. She must've gotten he days mixed up.
-
Mrs. Marlen looked incredibly distraught. "The police questioned me the day it happened, and since yesterday I've been staying with my therapist."
-
Imogen looked at Oliver, her expression like, 'What day did it happen?'
-
"That would be Wednesday, the day it happened. Today is Friday. So far, your words are sound," Oliver said. Mrs. Marlen sniffed and dabbed at her face.
-
"Can you tell us what you told them?" Imogen asked.
-
The therapist returned with a plateful of buuz and another with apple crumble and poppy seed buns, which Oliver gratefully ate.
"I told them that it w-wasn't me. I-I'd never do what t-they're suggesting," she said. -
(buuz? What's that?)
"Where were you on Wednesday?" Imogen asked. "Tell me everything that happened." -
(Basically they're steamed meat dumplings, sort of like pelmeni, I believe.)
"After my husband..," her lip quivered. "Anyway, the p-police asked me questions. Such as, "Where was I?" So I t-told them, I'd gotten up for some water, and went to check on my husband. By the time I got there, he was...gone!" -
(pelemeni?)
"I guess we're going to ask the police what happened then," Imogen said. -
(Russian dumplings, pretty much. Buuz is Mongolian.)
Mrs. Marlen nodded, before eating some of the apple crumble her therapist had brought her. Oliver nodded respectfully to the woman, who nodded back.
"Thank you, Miss...?"
"Melanie Parston. Please call me Mel."
"Thank you, Mel." -
(There's a difference between russian dumplings and regullar dumplngs?)
Imogen sighed and nodded. "Yes, thank you." -
(Different styles of making it, different ingredients, etc.)
Oliver walked out of the house. "Alright. Tell me what you think." -
(And you know about Russian dumplings because . . . ?)
"She wouldn't tell us anything," Imogen said. "Onely that the police asked her questions." -

(Because I'm a Time Lord, of course.)
"True. Which makes me suspect that she's hiding something," he said, opening the car door for her. "Let's hope Hamilton can shed some light on that subject."
