A fresh thrill of horror rushed through her stomach. "What?!"

"they're sent here through all sorts of terrible illegal means and they're forced to fight to the death." Peter said.

"Oh Peter!" Annie cried, wrapping her arms around him. "I never knew!"

"nobody does, except for Engle." Peter said.

"I hate this," Annie said. "I hate her."

"I do too, she made me murder so many people." Peter said.

In a sudden woosh, they were gone. Even though Annie didn't know it, they were in Engle's past.

They were surrounded by mirror walls

"Where are we now?" Annie said, looking around through her fingers.

"these are mine." Engle said walking up to them.

"What's with the mirrors?" Annie said.

"This was my trap, it's a maze I was never supposed to leave for defying the gods." Engle said

"Defying the gods?" Annie said. "How?"

"when I was little, I was offered as a sacrifice to Alexei the god of chaos, but I fought back instead of renouncing my life to the god." Engle said
