"Sir Jonathan?" he said. "I don't have a lordship. And it really all depends. We might get captured by bandits in the valleys, and I don't know if they'll find us worth anything or not. If we don't get captured, then there's the people in the marshes. They're tricky people, and favors aren't generally given, unless what you can offer in return is to their advantage. Then there's the cliff. Ragger can't go down that thing, so we'll have to ask the marsh people for a favor to keep him until we're able to come back. Then there's the mountains. You can die of cold up there, and there's also altitude sickness, which isn't a pretty thing, and you can also die from that."

Avalon listened to him explain the things, nodding along to the words spoken. "I have things." She replied, pointing to the bag she had on her back. "Gold as well. Ive hesrd bandits love gold...so one problem solved. Maybe." She smiled. "Guess from the sound of it these marsh people dont care about gold though, huh?" She asked him, thinking in her head.

Jonathan shrugged. "You never know," he said. "But with the bandits, once they see you have gold, they'll hold you for ransom instead of killing you. But if they think that you're worthless, they'll kill you immediately. And if ransom isn't paid in time, you're dead. So you can see why we can't have a run-in with bandits.

"Guess we'll have to wait and see." Avalon replied. "What do we do if we do run into them? Fight? Run? I guess it depends on how many..ehh, I'm not worried. I'll probably be held for this random then if they do catch us...you though? I dont know."

"Let's not dwell on it," Jonathan said. His aunt had taught him when he was a boy, that if you kept on saying things, they'd be sure to happen. And they needed the least amount of catastrophes on this trip.

Avalon shrugged. "If you say, sir." She replied back. "So..." She began, staring at him as she walked up beside of him. "What made you take up this...you know? Kind of life?"

"It's what my dad did," he said simply. "I didn't want to do anything else."

"Is that so? Didnt have thoughts of anything else?" Avalon inquired. "I dont remember my father." She added silently.

"I didn't know how to do anything else," Jonathan said. "He's dead now."

"Oh.." Avalon let out quietly, slowing down and falling a bit behind him now. "I apologize, i didnt know."

"Most people don't," Jonathan said. "Not until I tell them, anyways."

"Makes sense." Avalon said quietly back. "I think we're close to something!" She spoke, beginning to run ahead, seeing mountains out in the far distance ahead of them.

"The mountains may be there," Jonathan said, "but we have to deal with everything between here and the mountains. We won't reach any of the places I've mentioned today."

"If you say, sir." She replied. "Let's go faster then, the quicker the better. Right?" -
(Yes. I climbed Mt. Elbert last summer. The view from the peak is amazing.)
"If we start going faster, then we're going to get exausted quicker," Jonathan said.
