Aiden looked startled, before uncomfortably kneeling next to her. "Hey, are you alright?"

Mikan heard the voice of the boy who helped her and went back into reality. "I'm fine." Mikan said.

"No, you're not," Aiden said. "What's wrong?"

"my father was never a very good person and he used to tell at me in his office alot." Mikan said she decided to leave out the abuse like the burns on the back of her neck that usually came from a trip to his office while her stepmom watched laughing.

Aiden sat down next to her. "Yeah, I understand that feeling."

"you have bad parents too?" Mikan asked.

Aiden winced a little. Stupid. He didn't want a sort of pity party. But he wanted to trust someone. "Yeah, I guess so."

Mikan finally felt like someone understood her struggles "I must sound bratty, I mean it could have been worse." Mikan said.

"You're not bratty," Aiden said. "You're pretty much the least bratty person I've ever met. And I've met a lot of people."

Mikan blushed a little, she had never heard anyone who didn't call her selfish or bratty when she talked about her problems. "O-okay it's about time we get to class." Mikan said.

Aiden nodded, standing up. "Yeah, we should go." He extended his hand to help her up.

Mikan accepted his help and then said "so what is your name?"

"Aiden," he said, walking with her to the next class. "I guess I already know yours, huh?"

"yeah how did you know my name Aiden?" Mikan said

"The teacher said your name, remember?" he replied. He almost blew it.
