Atalith put her hand down. Apparently the counselor wasn't going to answer her question of not noticing because she could barely control her powers anyway, but she did hear that whispering. It was a bone-chilling sound. A feeling that she had never known.

Alia heard a whispering and covered her ears, rocking back and forth on the ground, her eyes wide.
"No, no, no," she muttered. -
Skye looked at Alia, concern flickering in her eyes, “You okay, Alia? I know, I heard it too and it’s more than just ‘nature’.”

Alia shook her head, one, two, three times, still rocking back and forth. Her eyes were focused on thin air, and she was trembling.

"I hear it too," Atalith said. She shivered, but not from the cold. "I've never felt this way before."

“Um.. I think the counselor is lying...” She bit her lip, “When do we have free time to maybe check it out?”

"We should go with the counselor right now," Atalith said, wheels turning inside her head. "And then when we have a chance, check it out. That way we don't look like we're openly disobeying them, and have a better chance of getting away with it."

Alia nodded, shakily getting to her feet. When she walked, a trail of darkly colored gemstones followed her.

Elaine heard the whispers too but wasn't concerned.
(As you can probably tell it's messing with Elaine in a different way.) -
Ataith led the group as they followed the counselor.

Alia was unaware that she was making a glimmering gemstone bridge, and she ran her hands absentmindedly on the railings.

(So, it's effecting her by making her loose the common sense that bridges popping out of nowhere is normal?)

(yes as well as the destructive thoughts like the major earthquake in the lake)
