Myriad stood next to her, looking a little worried as he picked at his hands "i hope Screech will be ok

"Me too," Belladonna said, looking down at the waves crashing against their vessel. "I still feel like we should have stayed."

"I know. But he wanted us to go home. Besides, we can come back to visit cant we?"

"I guess we could," Belladonna said gloomily, leaning against the deck as the cold air whipped her hair about in a frenzy. "It just feels weird, not having him here."

Myriad nodded in agreement, hugging himself "at least hes safe

Belladonna nodded; all the things that she wanted to say seemed to stick to her throat. She wrapped her arms around Myriad, leaning against him ever so gently.

Myriad hessitated before manifesting his wings and curling them around her

Small, clear droplets that could be mistaken for rain fell to the ground. Belladonna used her over-sized sweater sleeve to wipe her face, remaining in the hug for a while before pulling away from it. "We should probably head to the bunks. It looks like it's going to rain soon."

Myriad looked up at her and nodded "that sounds like a good idea

Belladonna felt so blank and hollow. She had seen enough death and felt enough pain to last her for...ever. She never wanted to be hurt again, but she knew that was wishful thinking. She went to her bunk and burrowed under the covers, feeling miserable.

Myriad followed her to the bunks and curled up in one, nesting in the blankets. He stared at the wall in silence, seeming sad

Belladonna stared at the ceiling in thought. "Myriad?"

"Yeah?" He said quietly, turning to look at her

"Will you ever leave me?" Belladonna asked, fiddling with a loose strand of purple string from her sweater. "Will you ever move on and forget?"

"No." Myriad said immidietly, sitting up
