"Why?" Rasia asked, still holding the soup in her hands. "What's wrong?"
-
Jonas chuckled a little. "What? I can't just.. stay here," he sighed. "..with a girl," he continued to mutter. He looked down as he spoke, then his eyes flicked up when he finished. He was questioning why Rasia even thought it was a good (or at least okay) idea to let him stay with her. It was like she had just tried to kill him earlier that same day.
-
"Okay, then you can take the couch and I can take the bed," Rasia said simply, shrugging. She hadn't realized until now why she was helping him, but now she remembered why.
-
Jonas stretched his arms up over his head and yawned. He looked at the couch, which was decently sized at least. “Yeah, thanks,” he said in a raspy voice. He knew it would take him a while to fall asleep since he had already gotten sleep earlier.
-
"Do you still want your soup?" Rasia asked, holding up the bowl. "If not I'll put it back."

“Uh sure,” Jonas reached for the bowl, but his hand slipped. The bowl crashed to the floor, spilling the soup and splattering it all over both of them. Jonas held his mouth open and then started to panic.
hii, i prefer if you don’t post here, unicorn. thank you. ♡ ) -
Rasia sort of jumped back in case the bowl broke, but it didn't. She smiled slightly, picked up the bowl, and walked into the kitchen. She returned with two towel. She tossed one to Jonas.

Jonas took the towel from her careful. He felt so clumsy and humiliated. His eyes drifted around the room as he cleaned up the spilled soup. Luckily, it hadn’t been hot enough to burn his skin when it hit. He looked up at Rasia. “I’m really sorry,” he said. “I.. why are you out here alone? Why were you in the woods today?” Jonas changed the subject. She seemed like she was started to warm up a bit and he wanted to make her crack.
-
"I guess you really don't want to eat," Rasia said. Then she started thinking about The questions Jonas had asked her. "I don't have a home, a family, or anything. This is my home here. I was an abandoned girl, living on the streets, and I was tired of fearing for my life every time I would fall asleep. A little girl sleeping in a corner, what a convenient target. Then I decided I would live in the woods like people in stories would. I came across this cabin, and I've lived here ever since. I was out in the woods, because I needed to think. I always go in trees to do that. You just managed to run into the wrong one.
-
Jonas looked at her sincerely, then furrowed his brows. “Well, Rasia.. I haven’t been quite honest with you either,” he began. “You won’t believe me when I say this, but I’ve been through more than most people could handle. Faced with death of my family, and even my own death. Tortured and beaten. Used by many.”
-
"I believe you," Rasia said. "I - I recognized the signs."
-
Jonas was surprised by her reaction, but he continued talking, “So you have to understand that I can’t stay here and I have to keep running,” He said in a low tone. “I’ll leave in the morning and you’ll forget I was ever here.”
