"Thats exactly it" Captain said as he crouched down to touch the ash. "Soul hydras are created when a mass amount of living creatures are violently killed in a place with high levels of ambiant magic. The problem is, theres no places like that anywhere near here.

"What if it was created because of the village tragedy? It makes sense, somewhat," Osseuss said, kneeling beside Captain for a better look.

Gigantus said "Or maybe someone summoned it? Just to cause havoc and chaos."

Captain hummed softly. "I dont know. If it came from this village, then someone or sonething would have had to manually provide the magic for it to form, which could explain why it was so malformed. As for the summmoning theory....im not sure? I havent heard of anyone doing anything like that. I could send word to some of my old contacts in the Ether Feilds, but im not sure if any of them are still around" the skullkin said

"Should we keep on heading to the village or...?" Osseuss said, leaving her question unfinished.

Gigantus said "Yeah, what do we do now?"

Captain stood up. "The village is just through those trees" he said, pointing. "We'll check to see if we can find something that could have caused this Hydra, then head back

"Good idea," Osseuss said, remounting. "Onward we go, valiantly, to triumph or perish!"
(She said the last bit in a heavy accent) -
Gigantus got back on and said "Tally, ho."

Captain snorted at them before swinging himself onto his horse and leading them the rest of the way to the ruined village

Osseuss patted her horse on the head, singing some strange sort of song.
