Lillian noticed him tense and sighed. "Sorry, I get very passionate about animals." She sighed.
-
"No, it's fine." Willow mumbled. "It's understandable; having snakes for hair isn't exactly something you see a lot."
-
Ruby asked "So where are your gators?"
Malefor asked "Have you sent those invites yet?" -
"I'll do that now." Camila replied. She took a deep breath as she took a locket from her pocket. She didn't like using her shadow, since it was a tool her father used a lot. However for this it might be useful. "Deliver the invites." She whispered before opening the locket. A shadow version of her placed the invites in a basket before zooming off.
"They are just over here." She replied, gesturing to the river where her gators had hidden from the visitors. "Come on out, don't be scared." She called. "Why would they be scared?" Heo chuckled. "You read in the paper that there have been many accidents where an alligator has attacked a human. However the accidents where a human has harmed a crocodile is ten times, maybe a hundred times more." Lillian told them. "But you'll never find that in the papers, not until only a handful are left." She sighed as three smaller alligators slowly came out. They all had harnesses with red lights on them, each emitting a different jingle. "These are Charity, Harmony, and Serenity. They are triplet sisters and they're the friendliest since they're the youngest females." Lillian explained. Then a very large but slow alligator with a tiger roar sound in his harness came out, causing Heo to jump back. "This is Tiger. He was born on the same day as me and is the triplet's grandfather." Lillian told them. "He won't hurt you, he's a big softy." She added, grabbing two buckets of fish, one of smaller and one of larger. "They are trained not to get the fish from the bucket or try and get the fish from your hand. What you do is throw the fish to the alligator you want to feed, and they'll open their mouths to catch it." Lillian explained before grabbing a big fish and tossing it to Tiger, and grabbing three smaller fish for the triplets. "Each gator gets five fish, and the others I already finished feeding." Lillian added. -
Willow looked at the gators and felt his snakes recoil. Snakes were pretty much alligator food, but Willow himself wasn’t afraid. He wasn’t a snake after all. He grabbed one of the smaller fish and threw it at the one he assumed was Serenity.
-
Ruby threw the fish at Charity. Wolfe just stayed back.
Malefor looked through the book and saw that for warping the past, it would take time depending on how drastic it was. The thing he wanted to do would change the world so much, it would take 2 weeks to complete. -
Serenity's jingle was like that of wind chimes and her harness was an aqua marine colour. Harmony had a purple harness with a chime that sounded like that of an ice cream truck. Finally Charity had a jingle that sounded like a phone ring on a blue harness. Tiger had an orange harness. Heo, wanting to show off, tossed a large fish to Tiger. However he felt a violent shiver when the giant male opened his strong jaw to catch the fish.
-
Ruby said "Pretty well behaved for creatures that make lunch meat out of the dinosaurs millions of years ago."
-
"Well my grandma was best friends with Tiger's grandfather so she raised him along with me, and the girls I've raised myself since they were babies." Lillian explained. "Lillian, what happened to your parents?" Heo asked. For the first time in his life, he saw a sad look in Lillian's eyes, but only for a split second. "They're with my Uncle Ray and Aunt Angeline." Lillian replied with a soft smile.
-
Ruby looked at Lillian with a surprised look. She didn't know she didn't have her parents anymore. She gave her a hug and said "I'm sorry." Wolfe ignored his fear and hugged her too.
-
Willow said nothing, standing awkwardly to the side as the three embraced. He did not fully understand why. How was a hug going to make that pain better? Or was that not the point of it either?
-
Lillian was surprised at first but relaxed and felt comfort in the arms of her friends. "They're gone? What happened?" Heo asked. "They were watching Tiger's father, my Uncle Lewis, perform. The ship crashed into the rock and sank." She sighed. "Grandma Odie named him Tiger and me Lillian, because we're her Tiger Lillies." She chuckled. "Geez... I didn't know." Heo sighed. "Hey, Don't get down over it. It's fine." She assured them with a smile. "I don't want to be the sad orphan girl, because I'm not. I am happy with my life." She explained.
-
Ruby and Wolfe let go and Wolfe asked "You know it's okay to cry though, right?"
-
“Good.” Was all Willow could muster. He felt bad about Lillian, sure, but everything about this situation was weird and foreign to the albino.
-
"Oh I cry sometimes, just not over that. There was no one certain; Oh, I'm an Orphan! Moment. I cry when one of the Aligators die, or when someone picks on them. Things like that." Lillian replied. "I try not to talk about it a lot though, not because I feel pain from it, but because with the reputation I have people might think I talk about it for attention." She explained.
