(Should I save my idea for a friend for Nia for another day then?)
Nia was confused by the silence and decided to continue on her way. Her mind buzzed in thought as she walked home, trying to pay more attention to the sounds of birds or the sound of leaves crinkling under her feet. -
I've been thinking about it since the start)

Alex walked home, his mind in a daze -
Nia arrived home, greeted her mom, and then went to her nook under the stairs to read.

"Hello mother." Alex bowed as he walked in, before taking off his jacket

“Hello Alex. How was your day?” She asked.

"It was normal" Alex shrugged as he took off his shoes "Where's Nia?"

“I think she went down to the basement.” She replied, happy that her step son and daughter were getting along.

Alex bowed again, and began walking to the door leading g to the basement.

Nia was reading a Sherlock Holmes book in the basement, trying to distract herself from her buzzing mind.

He opened the door, and crept down the stairs

Nia heard the noise of someone walking down the stairs since she was directly under the stairs and smiled, wondering if it was Alex.

"Nia?" He asked, descending to the floor

“In here.” Nia replied, opening the door to her nook under the stairs.

He looked over at her, and smiled

“Welcome to my humble abode!” Nia cheered, gesturing to the interior of the closet.
