Oh I also met to put on the card that she has scars on her body from the dogs, like bite marks and scratch marks. And some are in spots that are regularly visible.))
The air smelled like sterilizer and cleaner, which was to be expected since it was a hospital. On my first day which was yesterday, I was placed in the ER to help with things which, for the most part, went pretty well up until a guy came in from a car accident with a giant metal rod sticking out of his leg and there was lots of blood. I passed out. They sent me home and said I'd do something else the next day. The job she'd gotten wasn't really to do much since she was on the peds floor, so it was basically to entertain the kids and teenagers who's parents had to work today so they didn't get into stuff while the doctors and nurses were doing other thing as between rounds. Walking down the hall I stopped infront of doors to a room that were completely glass, along with the wall on the side of the room, in the glass a few pieces of paper were there that read, 'No blood products' and in the room was probably around a dozen people, their heads bowed, they looked to be praying all but three teenagers who were goofing around discreetly and trying not to be noticed by their parents. I decided to ignore it and walk away. My plan was to work down to high energy levels, start with a few begrudging teenagers, then to some angsty preteens and then to the energetic children, maybe, assuming that the older kids wouldn't really want to talk with her. She peaked into a room, seeing a girl around her age she walked in the room quietly. -
I looked up and smiled, putting my mirror down when the girl came in. "Hello. I am Caroline James, but my friends call me Lina." I greeted. My voice was soft and clear, and you could hear the intelligence and confidence in it. "I assume you're the volunteer. What would your name be?" I asked politely, offering my hand for her to shake.
-
I found myself frozen at the confidence in the girl. A small smile cracked across my face and I moved closer to Caroline, "I'm Noir." I spoke quietly my accent tumbling with my words and voice kind of shaky. I gently put my hand in hers to shake, not really concerned with the scars that could be seen on her hand and arms since it was never really noticed by anyone, or at least no one said anything.
-
I shook her hand, noticing the scars. "What's wrong with your arm dear?" I asked, curiousity and concern on my face as I studied the scars. "What happened? Did someone hurt you?" I asked.
-
My eyes widened a bit and I pulled back my hand quickly and hid both my hands behind my back, "Their from when I was a kid. Nothing important." I said rubbing one of my forearms behind my back.
-
I looked at the girl, curiosity and suspicion dancing in my eyes as I raised an eyebrow. I decided to leave it, for now. However I would ask one of the doctors to look into it later. "You must have had quite the eventful childhood." I told her, resting my chin in my hand. "Would you like to tell me a bit about it?" I asked curiously.
-
I shrugged slightly, "Not that eventful." She said with a small smile and sat down on one of the chairs in the room awkwardly, "Not much to talk about, just me and my dad now." I said and hid my hand in my lap. I looked around the plain room trying to avoid her gaze,
-
"Are you close with your father?" Lina asked, wishing she didn't need to guilt her parents to death in order to make them care about her.
-
(Oops. Did that in third person.)
-
"No." I said reflexively and way too quickly, "We don't... communicate well. Not a similar kind so to speak." I shrugged and looked at the ground.
-
"I didn't talk to my parents much either. Well... That is... Until I got cancer. It seems that regret and guilt makes people care more about you than love and respect..." I admitted, mainly talking to myself. "However, It's Fine. I've grown to enjoy my own company." I added, smiling.
-
My mouth almost mumbled a 'you'd think' but managed to stop myself before words came out. "It's uh nice they talk to you now though, even if it's not in the best of circumstances," I spoke with a soft smile, "But enjoying accompanying yourself is also good, the best some might even say."
-
I nodded. "Company of others is nice of course. I like having people around to share my thoughts with. Even though I don't really like people that much." I admitted. "Though, I have the feeling I will like you." I added with a smile.
-
I nodded slightly not really understanding cause I was more than content keeping all of my thoughts to myself, stuck in my head. "Nice to know, " She said with a small chuckle, "So any thoughts to share?"
-
"Not at the moment. I would like to know a bit more about you though. What do you like to do?" I asked, studying the girl. She was certainly pretty.
