"Well... I ran away from my pack with my sister when I was young. We would live with humans and pretend to be dogs. Eventually, when I was a teenager, I fell in love with a human. Then my sister and I found a new pack." He told her.

Russle took a deep breath. "My old pack? Somewhere in this forest." Russle told her, trying to avoid the topic of his sister and mate.

"I sense a depressed aura from you....Whatever it is,You can tell me."Knight said softly,her ears lowering a bit.

"I'm not depressed..." Russle told her. Blushing at the soft voice. "But... My... My sister and mate died at the party where I was going to announce her as my mate..." Russle admitted. "There's the cave." He added, hoping to distract her from what he said as he ran over to the cave.

Knight frowned deeply before walking towards the cave"I'm surely she would've accepted your proposal and I'm deeply sorry for your loss."She said softly.

Russle sighed. "It's Okay. It was a long time ago. Right now my job isn't to weep about the past. It's finding someone to protect you." Russle told her. He got an air mattress out of his survival pack. "I have two blankets and two pillows. Only one mattress." He told her. He knew what would happen if they shared a bed. "One of us will have to sleep on the floor." He added. He would probably let her We the mattress to be a gentlemen.

"I wouldn't mind sleeping on the floor,I'm not going to take your mattress away from you.After all,You did get it."Knight said softly as she sat near the entrance of the cave,looking at the night sky.

"Okay. If you want." Russle replied, not wanting to insist on her sleeping on the bed because that might turn into an issue where they end up sharing. "What about you? Did you ever have a pack?" Russle asked the girl as he waited for the mattress to fill with air.

"I was more of a lone wolf....that was only because...I was afraid...."Knight said lowly,her ears pinning back.

"What are you afraid of?" Russle asked. He smiled as he watched her under the night stars... Then looked down at the mattress and blushed.

"I was afraid that if I had a pack....that they would die....."Knight said softly,a hint of sadness in voice"And I would be the one that would be blamed for it....."

Russle looked at her and frowned. "I'm sorry about that." He replied, finishing the air mattress.

Knight sighed"It's fine.I wish to at least have a true mate and not a fake one...."She muttered,a blue ice ring forming around her form.
