"Exactly!" Kate agreed, packing the last of her stuff. "Either way... We leave tomorrow." She sighed, hugging Blake. "I'm gonna miss you." She sighed.

Blake hugged her back and smiled"I'm going to miss you too."

"I'll write to you! If I don't... It means I've died." Kate told her dramatically. "Or I can't write a decent letter." She added with a grin.

Blake grinned and patted her back"At least write me a decent letter."

"I'll try." Kate cheered. "Kate? Is Blake staying for dinner?" Kate's mom called up the stairs. "Can you?" Kate asked.

Blake nodded her head and smiled"Sure."

"Great!" Kate cheered. There were grilled cheese sandwhiches, corn on the cob, and sausages were waiting for them. "Awesome! This is my favorite meal!" Kate cheered, running to her plate. "It's a trap!" Her little brother warned her. Kate stuck her toungue at him before eating.

Blake walked over to her plate and soon started eating

"Do you have any plains for summer Blake?" Kate's mother asked as she served them their favorite sodas. Josh, Kate's brother, had orange soda. Kate had iced tea. And Blake had sprite.

"I was planning on getting guitar lessons or might get a job."Blake said as she took a sip of her Sprite.

"Cool! I wish I could take dancing or piano lessons." Kate complained. "You're going to get better lessons! Like friendship, adventure, story telling, team work," Her mom listed. "Yadda yadda yadda." Kate groaned. "Responsibility, survival," Her dad added. "And Falling in the mud!" Josh yelled. "You aren't helping." Kate's mom sighed.

"Me and Kate both have a good friendship,We both work good together."Blake muttered as she frowned.

"Yeah... I know." Kate's mom replied. "But it couldn't hurt to make more friends. Or to learn how to make friends in the future if you two take different paths." Kate's mom explained, immediately realizing that what she said could have been taken the wrong way. And was. "I'm not hungry." Kate groaned, running outside.
