How about Jason feels bad about his actions back in high school so he tries to get the two back together to make up for it?
Or Jason sees the opportunity to get together with Rose. She says no because she still loves Oliver. Jason keeps pressuring her until one day all her feelings about the situation pour out and Oliver overhears.) -

Oliver drank until he fell asleep. His last thought is Rose's pained face. He decides that his plan must go into action tomorrow. -

Rose sighed, "Have a good night sleep Oliver. " She wished, before going to bed. -

When Jason saw that Rose was back in town a smile drew across his face. "Hey Rose!" He greeted, following her into the building. "Long time no see." He added -

Oliver walked into work, running his plan through his head. He got to his office, took a deep breath, and called Miss Halden up to his office. The moment before, Oliver told the receptionist to send Rose up to his office when she arrived. That way, Rose could see everything that was going on inside the office. -
Rose was so happy. Oliver called her to the office! She squealed in happiness. OMG! Does this mean he has forgiven me?! She thought and took a few deep breaths. She held the door knob and tucked her hair behind her ears. And slowly opened the door. Keeping her eyes on the ground and blushing wildly.

Jason, who was the landlord of the building, waited at the lobby. He saw Rose enter the building and quickly stood up. "Hey Rose! Long time no see!" He greeted, smiling at her cheerful beauty.

Miss Halden was perched on Oliver's desk seductively. Oliver heard the door, and wasted no time in connecting lips with his admirer. Pain struck through his heart as he imagined what he was doing to Rose, but instead of breaking away, he deepened the kiss until they were making out. Of course, Miss Halden obliged...
