Mary realized that it was getting late so she returned the skate board and walked past Derek's house .

Derek woke up sick, "how did this happen?" He said and coughed three times.
He called his mom, whos a doctor, and she came up. She examined him and he was fine. She rolled her eyes and left.
Was he love sick or?
"I guess I won't see Mary today." He whispered and coughed again. -

When Mary didn't see Derek she wen to his house and knocked .

The mom opened the door, "How can I help you young lady?" She asked.
Derek couldn't stop thinking about Mary. -
"I'm here to see Derek " said Mary sweetly . She was wondering about Derek.

"Oh," Mom smiled, "Come in, its right this way." She takes her to Derek's room.

Mary just standed at the doorway."hello" she said.

"I'll leave you two alone." Mom said, and walked back downstairs.
Derek looked up, "Mary? What are you doing here?!" He smiled. -
"You didn't come to the park.So I came to check on you . Are you sick?" She asked and sat at the foot of the bed

"My mom says I'm not. But now I feel better for some reason." Derek said, trying to sit up.

Mary just watched . "Oh , well OK then I guess you need to rest don't you" she had the feeling she needed to leave.

"I'm fine Mary. I don't need to rest." Derek replied.

"Should I go ?" She asked .She felt Derek just didn't like her.
