(Sorry, I was sleeping.)
Daniel sighed, leaving the present there. Looks like he wouldn't be able to solve the mystery after all. He was about to get off, but he saw the door was closed. So he tried to use the handle to open it. Suddenly, he felt someone's hand on the handle! "Hey there!" A teenage boy a little older than Daniel greeted after appearing out of no where. -
"Quinten!" Jade hissed, still invisible. She didn't want rumors going around about the ghosts on the bus, as she knew that people would come to investigate.
-
"What?" Quinten asked his sister. Daniel assumed the boy came from the drivers door. He heard the girl yell at him. So he knew the boys name was Quinten. "I thought there would be someone on here!" Daniel cheered as the bus drove off. "Uh... Why are we leaving?" Daniel asked. "Cause we don't want too many kids coming on here." Quinten answered.
-
Jade stayed silent. The boy must have heard her! She hesitated about revealing herself, but waited for her brother to reassure her. She didn't really want the boy of her dreams seeing her in such ragged clothes, anyway. After a while, she asked Quinten where he was heading to.
-
(Sorry, I just had lunch. At, like, 3 pm. XD)
-
"My sister's hiding. Put the present in the back and have a seat. She'll come out eventually." Quinten told Daniel. Daniel felt like he was being watched again as he did that.
-
Jade watched as the boy walked past. She sat stock still, not wanting to give her position away. She waited a while, and heard Quinten and the boy talking at the front. At last, she felt she was ready, and showed herself. However, she kept quiet, not wanting to startle the boy. She eyed the present at the back. It looked soft and squishy.
-
"So why does this bus go to my school if no one gets picked up?" Daniel asked. "Because my sister likes the garden in your school." Quinten lied.
-
Jade wanted to thank her brother, and wished briefly that ghost powers included telepathic conversations. She decided to speak up, either way. "Yeah, we don't get to stop at many houses nowadays, so we just stop at random places to look at grass and flowers throughout the day."
-
Daniel heard her and turned. "Hi." He greeted, seeing her outfit. "So you guys live on this bus?" He asked.
-
"Yeah, pretty much. It's kinda boring," Jade sighed. She didn't want to mention that no, they weren't technically living on the bus, they were dead on the bus. Pushing those thoughts aside for a moment, she noticed that the boy had seen her outfit. She ignored it, hoping that she didn't look too much of a wreck.
-
"I got you a present." Daniel told her. He studied the girl a bit. She was pretty, besides the ripped clothes. Her eyes were gold and very dull however.
-
"The present is for me?" Jade said, taken aback. She hoped it wasn't a joke; she remembered when Quinten used to give her presents on random days, and she would open it to find an empty cardboard box.
-
"Yeah. I heard you so I assumed if I got you a present you'd come out." He replied, feeling a little embarrassed.
-
Jade saw the embarrassment in his face. "I would probably do the same if I heard something on an empty bus. Can I open it?" She asked, changing the subject. She didn't want him to feel awkward, so she reckoned it was a tactical move.
