"What's with the picture?" Kendra asked, glaring at the girl. How could someone she just met already be hating on her!?!

"Is that your business? These are my siblings." Corki lied, "I like to make fun of them all the time."

Genesis paused mid bite and looked over at the girls in confusion

"Okay..." Kendra replied. "So what do you guys think of that girl Riley? I don't think she knows her family's doing anything wrong." Kendra asked.

Genesis shrugged slightly "she seems nice enough, if abit of a ditz

Corki was done with her drawing, "I think she's putting up an act so We'd think she's innocent." She laughed, "Just kidding"

Riley smiled as she listened. Sounded like things were getting better! But, then again, it was her fault for forgetting dinner. What kind of idiot forgets to feed their guest? She laughed at herself as she drew and listened to them. Though, she was a little confused on the innocent comment. What was there to be innocent about? Oh, yeah. Dinner. She wasn't innocent there.

Corki sat down, twiddling her thumbs.

"Dad, I'm going to go shopping. I can take a taxi." She told her dad as she got some money from her piggy bank. "Do you guys want anything?" She asked through the door.

"Nothing at all." Corki said.

Books and apples" genesis said as he pulled out his book

"What kinda books?" She asked. She was glad that he liked books! Not much people did anymore... at least... according to commercials, tv, and her books. The irony... Kendra didn't answer. Any response she could think of was rude.

Poem books" came his reply

"Okay!" Riley replied. She called a taxi to pick her up and walked out the door. She wondered whether to think of what Genesis said earlier as a compliment or a random quote... She shrugged the thought away but blushed as it returned. She managed to shake it out and think about what she would buy as the taxi arrived.
