Jack felt like he should return but he decided not to and headed home

The next day, Lo arrived at school and arrived at her metal box called a locker. "Uh... Hi Jack!" Lo greeted. She fought with the lock until she could open it.

"hi!.." he responded to lo

"How are you?" Lo asked, avoiding Jack's eyes as she unloaded her stuff. She was excited to learn more at school! But right now, she was trying to focus on not getting... What was the word her teacher used when that kid cried in class during the lock down drill they had? Oh yeah. Overwhelmed. She was focusing on not getting overwhelmed with the weird feeling.

"are you feeling OK?" He asked her

"Uh... Yes." Lo lied. Lying... She did this sometimes. It's been a while since she had had a reason to lie though... Oh well... She just had to lie for now. Soon the bell rang and she went to class. "Bye!" She cheered, humming as she skipped to class. People stared at her because she didn't know to stop moving for the anthem. But a teacher corrected her.

After her classes, Lo decided to sit alone at lunch. She ate berries and soup and tried to ignore the stares. She noticed the Forget-me-nots she weaved into her hair were welting, so she took them out. She used a hair brush that was given to her by her teacher to brush her hair out. Soon however, she could no longer bare the staring and ran out of the cafe.

At lunch jack sat with his friends as usual and saw lo run out of there

Lo ran into the bathroom (she didn't know to care which) and looked in the mirror. She noticed she looked different than the other kids... They had clear faces... She had blue and green stains, bruises, and a small cut on hers. They wore lip stick. She stained her lips with raspberries... Lo sighed and tried washing her hands. She noticed but didn't care that many signs said Boys Bathroom. Until a few boys came, screamed, and ran off. Lo didn't know about Boy/Girl washroom rules. So she figured they were running from merely her... Lo cried, locking herself in the stall.

Jack walked in to the bathroom and heared someone crying so he knocked on the stall "you ok?" He asked not knowing who was in the stall

Lo heard Jack knock and stayed silent. She didn't want him to know it was her...

"hello?" He asked confused

"Go away!" Lo told Jack in a deep voice so he wouldn't know it was her.
