Lindsay sighed, disappointed that Lori wasn't going to watch the show. They pulled the sleigh back stage so they could use it when it was time for the scene. Justin and Lindsay got backstage and the Christmas concert began.
-
brightfire NewbieLittle did they know Lori had attached a secret microchip sized video camera in the horses nostril and she watched the show.
-
First, was the opening act. Five children singing Grandma Got ran over by a Reindeer. When they finished, the curtain closed and the M.Cs got on stage. "Thank you to Dora, Wally, Zack, Zoey, and Ashley for that preformance!" One of the girls cheered. "Next, we have the first scene of A Christmas Couple! A play written by Justin and Lindsay!" The other announced.
-
lori did NOT plan for it to be named "a christmas couple". she flinched before turning and sliding under her project with a wrench.
-
The curtains opened and revealed Lindsay sleeping in a bedroom. The radio was talking about it being the first Friday of December! "I have a date with Robert!" Lindsay cried, clearly playing a character. The background had windows and each window had one of Lindsay's friends looking through. They all sang the song Run Run Rudolph while she got ready. When the song stoped, Lindsay was in a pretty outfit and left her room. Then the curtains closed and the announcers announced the next performance was I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Clause sung by Wendy. T!
-
brightfire NewbieI saw mommy kissing Santa clause? I'll check that out lol)
Lori nodded. Sshe had basically built the set and was pleased. -
After Wendy's performance they announced Scene 2 of Lindsay's play. Acted by older kids, were Lindsay's character's parents were sitting on the couch. "Where are you going?" Her father asked. "To see a friend." Lindsay told them, walking out the door. The scene slided along with her parents walking out. It changed to a street background. The song All I Want For Christmas is You was being sung by people walking on the street.
-
brightfire NewbieLori was geuininely perplexed by loris choice and whispered something before texting her the exact thing. "Wow.. Uhm. Why that song? It doesn't really go with the scene. Anyways good luck!"
-
The scene ended when Lindsay arrived at a house and finished the song. When the curtains closed, the next mini preformance began and Lindsay checked her phone.
Lori: Wow.. Uhm. Why that song? It doesn't really go with the scene. Anyways good luck!
Lindsay: My character, Susy, is thinking about him on her way to his house.
Lindsay put her phone down and got ready. As she heard them finishing Silver Bells, she got the sleigh ready. -
brightfire NewbieLori: alright. I want to warn you the red button... Isn't meant to be pushed. This isnt one of those movies where you push it anyways, right? Making cookies.
Lori was torching some cookies and humming. -
The next scene began. Justin came out of his character's house and spun Lindsay around! "Just hear those sleigh bells jinglin, Ring-ting-tingling too! Come on, it's lovely weather For a sleigh ride together with you!" Justin sang. "Outside, the snow is falling! And Friends are callin Yoo Hoo! Yoo hoo! Come on, it's lovely weather! For a sleigh ride together with you!" Lindsay sang before they rang into the sleigh. The scene behind them made it look like they were moving.
"Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up! Let's go, let's look at the show! We're riding in a wonderland of snow!" Lindsay sang. "Giddy up, giddy up, giddy up!!! It's grand, just holding your hand! We're riding along with a song, of a wintry fairy land!" Justin sang, making the 'horse' move faster.
By the end of the song, they were back at Justin's Character's house. They skipped in and the scene ended. The next mini performance was "Santa Baby!" Sang by an older high school girl. -
the horse actually moved. it trotted around, dragging the sleigh with it, around the stage. lori had made that specifically for lindsay to add some "pizazz" to her performance.
-
The horse moving messed the scene up a little. Since the scene behind them was an effect to make it seem like they were moving down a street, the horse mooving made it look funny. Lindsay blushed a little and went pale from shock but carried on with the acting as if nothing happened. Soon she was back stage again. She listened to the mini performance and got ready for the next scene!
-
brightfire Newbie*they moved toward and stopped, then)
Lori immediately dialed a remote and the horse stopped and went softly from left to right as they sang. She sighed with relief that she was able to fix it. -
For the final scene, they performed the song "It's cold outside!"
I really can't stay (but baby, it's cold outside)
I've got to go away (but baby, it's cold outside)
This evening has been (been hoping that you'd drop in)
So very nice (I'll hold your hands, they're just like ice)
My mother will start to worry (beautiful what's your hurry?)
My father will be pacing the floor (listen to the fireplace roar)
So really I'd better scurry (beautiful please don't hurry)
But maybe just a half a drink more (put some records on while I pour)
The neighbors might think (baby, it's bad out there)
Say what's in this drink? (no cabs to be had out there)
I wish I knew how (your eyes are like starlight now)
To break this spell (i'll take your hat, your hair looks swell)
I ought to say, no, no, no sir (mind if I move in closer?)
At least I'm gonna say that I tried (what's the sense in hurtin' my pride?)
I really can't stay (oh baby don't hold out)
But baby, it's cold outside
I simply must go (but baby, it's cold outside)
The answer is no (but baby, it's cold outside)
Your welcome has been (how lucky that you dropped in)
So nice and warm (look out the window at this dawn)
My sister will be suspicious (gosh your lips look delicious)
My brother will be there at the door (waves upon the tropical shore)
My maiden aunts mind is vicious (gosh your lips are delicious)
But maybe just a cigarette more (never such a blizzard before)
I've gotta get home(but baby, you'd freeze out there)
Say lend me a coat(it's up to your knees out there)
You've really been grand (I thrill when you touch my hand)
But don't you see? (how can you do this thing to me?)
There's bound to be talk tomorrow (think of my lifelong sorrow)
At least there will be plenty implied (if you got pnuemonia and died)
I really can't stay (get over that old out)
Baby, it's cold
Baby, it's cold outside
(Justin sang the stuff in brackets and they both sang the last two lines.)
When the play ended everyone clapped and cheered! Lindsay clapped her hands with excitement as they headed to backstage to get changed into their normal clothes.
