Chloro said "You don't owe him anything. You've worried enough. How much?" Mark said "$150." Chloro paid him and Mark said "Good day" as he exited.
-
"You guys have actual currency?" Zia's eyes were wide; she hadn't known that before. Anna-Kucha worked on a barter system. They traded with ease. "We have a barter system.." She murmured. After the old way of life was abolished, her tribe decided to work on a less complex level. Slightly more chaotic, but many believed that was for the better. Anxious to see Gale, Zia tapped her foot on the ground, biting her lip.
-
Chloro said "I will take you to him." He brought Zia to the backroom where Gale was. Once there he said "I'll leave you two alone." and left.
-
Zia nodded, holding the boy's hand. He would be in a lot of pain once he woke up and a strike of guilt hit her. Zia frowned. "I'm so sorry.." She muttered, beginning to cry. However, the fourteen year old soon woke up.
"The hell?" He mumbled.
"Gale! What happened?" Her tears immediately faded.
"I.. I.. tree people.. Where are we?"
"Uh.. A rogue town. We can leave now. Can you walk?" She asked. -
Chloro overheard Zia's and Gale's conversation and was confused. He thought Why would a member of the tribe kill their own kind? Even rouges don't do that. Something isn't right.

(bump)

Gale attempted to sit up, but gasped in pain. "no, no, I can't." Zia's eyes were full of worry. If Gale wasn't back in time for the Warrior Ritual, both she and Gale could be killed. But their death was certain if they were found here. However, what if Gale died in the woods while Zia was trying to take him back? She's surely be killed for the crime of murder. He was wounded. The tribe would notice. What would they say? Zia didn't want to start a war, but lying was a crime punishable by death. In fact, most crimes were capital crimes. "What do we do, then?" She looked around.
-
Chloro sat down, pondering why his own people would attack other members of the same tribe. For a minute he wondered if the people he saved were part of his tribe at all.
-
"I'll have to carry you." Zia huffed. "Do you think you'll be able to get on my shoulders?" She asked.
"I don't think so.. But I can try." The young boy responded. After a long time striving to get her brother's apprentice on her shoulders, Zia's attempts were successful. Zia began to walk into the forest, eager to get away from the other tribe as fast as possible. As soon as they realized she was an outsider- well, she didn't know what would happen, truthfully. But Zia imagined it wouldn't be pretty and painless. The idea scared her enough- as she knew the same would happen to Gale- that she sped up the walking pace. "How you doing up there?" Zia asked. She was greeted by the boy's moan in response. He was losing strength- and they weren't even near camp. -
Chloro saw the two people leave and decided to silently follow them. He followed, unseen and unheard, as he wanted to see where they'd go and if they were allies, because he was starting to have doubts.
-
Zia didn't think the outlook for Gale was very good. She had no way to inform anyone of what had happened. She knew their medics very well, but she had no way to contact them. She had left her emergency horn at home, sadly. She was quite reckless, she didn't think she needed it- she could handle most things on her own. But why was Gale so far into the woods in the first place? Apprentices of their tribe weren't allowed in the woods without adult supervision or permission to go in alone by their leader. Why weren't there any patrols out? It was about noon by now- why hadn't she seen a single patrol team, hunting team or gathering team? Zia was confused, angry, scared. Every emotion at once. It wasn't pleasant. And again, she felt like she could faint.

Chloro continued to followed the two. He lost them only once and found them again. He just had to figure out where they were going.
