Rayne sat on the bed and pulled an envelope out of her bag. She had saved all the money she ever earned for Paris before the accident, but was now saving for Lasik eye surgery. She would love to see again, but only had $254 saved up...
-
Peter looked to the envelope she had curiously before he stepped inside a bit towards her. "Wh-what's that for?" he asked her coming to a stop soon after.
-
Rayne turned her head in his direction. "It's my savings... I'm trying to afford eye surgery one day." She forced a sad smile.
-
"Oh.." Peter said looking downwards towards her thinking. "How much would that need? D-do you know?" he asked her
-
"About $400 as a down payment... I only have $254...." Rayne sighed softly, running a hand through her long hair. She frowned and looked down silently.
-
"I... Can help y-you save up for it, Rayne." Peter said a bit calmly to her as best as he could, stepping closer to her a bit and a bit by second, looking to her. Wanting to help her with it.
-
Rayne shook her head. "That's okay, Peter. You wouldn't benefit from it, and it would take me a while to pay you back."
-
"Y-you wouldn't have to pay me back." Peter said as he walked up nearly in front of her slowly. "I-I'll help you get the money for it. We-we're family now. Y-you're my..sister." he spoke slowly to her.
-
Rayne sighed and smiled. "Thank you, Peter. It means a lot. But it most likely wouldn't be enough anyway." She turned her head back to the envelope.
-
Peter smiled back to her a bit and nodded his head. "I-Its worth a try. If i-it doesn't, can t-try harder..maybe. I'm h-here to help." he said to her, looking to her.
-
Rayne stood and carefully hugged him, having followed his voice. "Thank you..." She murmured into him.
-
Peter stood straight, taking a deep breath as she hugged him. "Y-you're welcome." he said to her, before her hugged her back a bit, smiling.
-
Rayne slowly pulled away. "But we'd have to check with Sh- I mean, Mom and Dad first." She corrected herself, the words foreign to her.
-
"Yeah." Peter said nodding his head as he dropped his arms back to his sides. "That would be b-best." he said after a bit.
-
Rayne yawned and stretched, popping her back. "Well, thanks for all your help, Peter."
