He grabbed the stone and swam back up, but as he did he tapped in to the stones power and slowed down time. He shot out of the water and grabbed rayne, pulling her away from the man before letting the flow of time return to normal

Rayne blinked wildly as the man growled and aimed his gun at them. "W-Why you!"

Archaios hissed as he moved, hiding rayne from sight

Rayne looked up at him, eyes wide. The man cocked his gun and fired at him.

Archaios hissed as he was shot but then lunged forward to attack the man

The man cried out and fled, leaving a trembling Rayne.

Archaios looked over at her in concern

"W-Why did you do that...? You were hurt..." Rayne whispered, tears rolling down her cheeks.

His eyes darkened slightly "I couldn't let him kill you

Rayne shook her head, looking down. "My life isn't important. I'm just a selfish human.... a monster..." she whispered, tears falling into her lap.

He changed to his human form and hugged her "your not a monster

Rayne hugged back tightly, trembling slightly. "You should have let me die... you got hurt saving me..."

He shook his head slightly "I could do that" he said softly

"Why not?!" Rayne cried, pulling away. She obviously felt guilty for his injury.

He looked away "your....my friend" he said, hesitating before saying friend
