Thread Topic: A Dragon's Apprentice
-
On the world of Revilon, dragons roam free. They are the protectors of the humans. But every 250 years, the dragons choose a young child to become their apprentice or adopted child. These children gain the ability to turn half dragon (wings, tail, etc.) or into a dragon. They also gain powers. But when the dragon, Blackwell the Sinister emerges from the underworld, the Dragons disappear to deal with him. The Apprentices feel that they have to do something about it to help their parent. Will they succeed?
The second half of the plot is so cliche. XD
Stuff that Kiko and I discussed:
The Dragon power has a seperate personality then the host. So when you're in the half Dragon state your two personalities fight for control. If you're in full Dragon state, then your other personality has most of the control.
Kiko called earth magic. I called water magic.
If I think of anything else, I'll mention it.
I'll make my skeleton (character form) in a little bit. -

Inner Dragon's Personality: (optional)

Name: Arika
Age: 24
Gender: Female
Weapon(s): Two bladed fans. (copy and paste the link XD)
Power: Her main element is water, though she dabbles in Light magic a bit. She has almost full control over water, and she is a skilled healing magic user.
Race: Human
Dragon: Destan the Calm (he is shown in the picture below)
Normal Looks:
Half-Dragon: (except there are rings of water around her ankles, wrists, and head. She also has small wings made of water.)
Dragon State Looks:
Strengths: She has good judgement, and will decide if a wound deserves to have a speedy heal or not. She is also very attentive in battle, and can see most of the movements on the battlefield.
Weaknesses: While she can tell most of what's happening in battle, she tends to have trouble adjusting to these happenings. She doesn't have a huge amount of defense.
Personality: You shall see.
Inner Dragon's Personality: Kinda useless, bit you'll see the rest.
Other: Since one end of her fans have a hairpin like design, she wears one in her hair when in casual clothing. The other she uses as an actual fan. She finds that she gets regarded with a bit more respect when she wears her Miko (shrine maiden) outfit and haori along with the fan. (XD) -
Oh, and the fans have the ribbon/string/rope/wire thing so that she can throw them, then pull them back.

Name: Echo
Age: 23 (Loli for the win XD)
Gender: female
Weapon: Her weapon is a black collapsible staff that's a bit taller than six feet
Power: Echo has pretty much mastered her earth magic and hasn't dabbled in any other kinds.
Race: Half-animal-ish thing...?
Dragon: Ceraphina the Daunting
Normal Looks:
Half-Dragon:
Dragon State Looks: Its the dragon in the picture^ but really base it off the half form
Strengths: Echo is very speed based and although most of her movements and based of strength she used the earth and her magic to assist her, she easily adjusts to thing in moments of weakness. She has very good stamina, instead of most of the abilitys her species has(Smell, hearing ext.) She can tell when someones lying.
Weaknesses: Her mind set is very slow so she isn't strategic and she cant read people in battle or in other moments, she has terrible agility. She can't swim
Personality: Quiet and timid, shes very shy around humans and other species because of the history of her species (Yes I just made up a history for her kind). despite this all off her actions in fight or sometimes other wise are ruled off emotion.
Inner Dragon's Personality: the opposite of her very loud and annoying, and is often embarrassing in someways or when she slips out, also inner dragon is just alottinny bit sadistic. She is also very easy to anger and upset.
Other: When she was younger it was found out that she was blind and so her parents left her in the woods and that's when the dragon found her, from the abilities of her magic she has pretty much perfect sight, except when she uses to much of her magic her sight disappears for a bit till the magic returns.
Because Echos mind set is on the weaker side the half form is her pretty much her fully taken over its also easy for her dragon to take over if she is overcome with some emotion.
The dragon always insists on being called Fina. -
I forgot *sigh* -

(Posting order will be Luna, Kiko, Ranger)
Arika was dusting off areas around the main building of the shrine that she lived in along with her guardian, Destan. She liked keeping the place in order, because then there was less nagging from water spirits about how "the Water Dragon's shrine should always be clean." Placing the duster on a side table, Arika looked up towards the sky. Judging by where the sun was, it was a bit after noon, and the idiot still hadn't gotten up yet.
Marching towards his room and almost slipping once in her tabi socks, she slammed the sliding door open. She was met with a fairly tall man who was sprawled across his futon and snoring. She sighed to herself and walked towards the futon. He should've been awake hours ago. Once she reached him, the man began to stir and opened his eyes. He blinked like he didn't understand what was going on as he glanced around the room.
"Good Afternoon, Destan. Good to see that you decided to wake up," Arika said, a small smile on her face.
Destan blinked once again before realizing what type of situation he was in. His face suddenly had a nervous expression. "Uh..." He started sheepishly, "what do you mean afternoon...?"
Arika still had a smile on her face when she replied. "It's after noon. The shrine has already had six visitors."
"O-oh," Destan said, laughing nervously.

Human Fina:
)
Echo flipped over of her bed groaning softly as she was being shoved by Fina, "Fina I'm sleeping." She said yawning Fina sighed,
"Wakey, wakey, Echo. Time to get up I need to take a run into town and you have to come with me."
"Why?" Echo asked rolling over away from Fina, before Echo could answer the covers were pulled away from her and thrown on the ground behind Fina.
By the time Echo was ready Fina was standing promptly at the door fully dressed umbrella and all, "Aww don't we look cute, Echo!" Fina said excited, "We look just like a little family, I could be the mother!" Echo smiled slightly in a warm way towards Fina,
"Fina, are we going now? Its midday so many people will be out." Fina smiled brightly,
"Of course! It'll be fun- Don't tell me you're going to wear that hood the whole time again!" Echo pulled the hood up on the cloak she put on which was the only other clothing item she had other than what she usually wore and it was just for in town. Echo smoothed it out over her ears so you couldn't see them very well through the hood. Fina sighed and pulled her out the door of the small cabin and down the thirty nine steps that came down from it, "Ready~!" Fina sang as she landed on the damp grass
"Fina nooo its too early."
"1... 2... 3... Go! Looser buys lunch~!" She said then disappeared, Echo sighed and started running towards the direction of the town. -
Fallen Ranger NewbieMitsuhide tried again. His sore arms struggled to hold it up any longer, but he new it was vital. With a fluid motion, one that was already ingrained into his head, he sliced into a fake dummy. Cotton, wood and anything else it was made of went everywhere. Without hesitation he continued on to the second part of the drill, swinging the scythe backwards in a crescent formation. Pretending he was in a real fight, he made a battle cry before jumping and slamming the scythe into the ground. Wiping a slick sheen of sweat off his brow he glanced over to his mentor, who was sprawled out in front of a tree.
"It was good. But not good enough. Again." The dragon stated with a curt nod of his head, his voice ringing with laziness and an undercurrent of dominance. Mitsuhide immediately lost his composure, his hands clenching in anger.
"I've had it! I'm done with today, we've been working since dawn. I'm going to bed." He gave a slight glare, before hauling his foot long scythe into the weapons shed. He knew he wouldn't get far, but he had to try.
"One more step, you miss breakfast." The tone was the same, but the dragon sounded not demanding than usual, and Mitsuhide knew to never cross him when he was in this mood.
"Again?" The green dragon asked, slight amusement in his tone, as he rolled over for a more comfortable position on the bark. Mitsu sighed and though long and hard about rebelling, yelling, screaming and being obnoxious. And just maybe all of the above. But he didn't dare.
"Again." Mitsu said with a smaller voice, a hard, unpleasant edge in his tone. He looked towards the direction of the sun, imagining how pleasant everything must be for people unlike his current situation. Trying to leave his foolish thoughts behind he reopened the weapons shed, grabbed the scythe and with a grin smile, marched back towards the training grounds. -
Arika kneeled down, held one of her fans at Destan's neck and sighed. "Why is it that I need to go through all of this trouble to get you out of bed every day?"
"You shouldn't point weapons at innocents," Destan said. A slightly hopeful feeling could be heard in his words.
"Please, you wouldn't die. You're too stubborn. You'd probably come back home after dying once." Arika stood, flicking open her fan and fanning her face lightly.
Destan laughed. Most of his nervousness had left him at this point. "But isn't that a good thing? You won't be lonely in such a large shrine."
"At least I can handle myself if necessary," she replied, closing the fan and slipping it behind her obi.
"Ouch... I'm hurt," Destan said, a huge smile on his face.
Arika chuckled to herself, a legitimate smile forming on her face. It was hard to stay mad when Destan was around. "Come eat something. We can't have one of the great guardians of our world starving to death." -
(*behind her hakama
Not behind her obi. Because I realized that it was her half-Dragon form that had the obi. Not the normal form. Oops.)
