Thread Topic: Huh.
-
I guess I just lost that round.
*sitting in front of a big screen, controller in hand*
*some video game is seen there*
If only I had assistance, I could totally beat this level before I have to go check the medical ward.. Uuuu.. -
Oh? *peeks over shoulder*
Tell me, what game is this? Maybe I can help. I have to wait for my birdie anyway.
*happily sits beside the other, holding out a hand*
The name's Evan. Evan Thorn. *smiles* -
*slightly startled because woah where did this new person come from*
*takes the extended hand anyway, grinning and shaking it*
I'm Evan too! Evan Carlotta-Smith. Pleasure to meet you. As for the game.. Let me check.
*pulls hand away, setting controller down and going to pick up the case* -
Eheheh, didn't mean to scare you. *nervous laugh*
Such a common name we have! Not at all like my birdie. Well, his first name is but not when you combine it with his middle. *sits back staring up at the screen*
It's been awhile since I last played a game. I've started to get old.. So much new responsibility. *sighs* -
Oh, it's okay, really. I just don't expect too many guests apart from my boyfriend and the occasional family member coming in to ask me to help them with something. I'm not easily bothered.
*walks over with the case in hand*
*and my clueless bby thinks that Evan is talking about an actual /bird/ and not Jay*
What's your bird's first name?
*sits back down next to him*
Responsibilities are awful. I have some, too. But I always have time for games. I was playing Mario Kart. -
Ah, I always expect at least one person besides my love to come around. Most of the time it's our friends Evelyn and Emmett. Cute couple really. As for family.. Well, we really only see my mother. Haven't seen my father in years because of his constant travelling and Jay's family... We don't communicate with his mother for a variety of reasons.
*perks up with a wide grin at the question, always happy to talk about his lover*
My birdie, my lovely Jay. I've known him for so long, and we've been together for five or six years now. He might be a little rough around the edges, very out-spoken, but he's a sweetheart when you get close to him.
*thinking back on old times before sitting up and looking for a controller*
Nintendo. One of the largest gaming companies around, and a company from my home. Although, Atlas games are fun, too. Especially when I can change the language between English and Japanese. Anyway, what are you stuck with? Mario Kart can't be that difficult, can it? *curious* -
Different crowds, huh? Not surprising.
*tilts head slightly, awed*
Jay must be your boyfriend.. Not a bird.. ^^; It's great to know you've had a boyfriend for that long! Pierce and I have only been together for a year now, but I think it's safe to say that you and I are the same.
*picks up own controller, blushing*
I can't unlock this one map.. I can't ever meet the requirements. I'd hate to say it, but I suck at this game. -
We just know a lot of people from our years.
*small blush*
Ah, yeah. We're old. I don't think anything will separate us, so marriage has definitely been a topic of discussion. But if we do decide on it, we're waiting until we're finished with school. I know Jay wants to go on for a masters or a docturate.. He's so dedicated and smart..
*fiddles with the controller that was finally found*
I know how that feels. Even when you think you can win, the blue shell just has to ruin everything. -
Can I ask how long you've been around? I know it's an embarrassing question sometimes, so.. You don't have to answer.
*leans back, glancing at him*
School, huh? Man, I wish I could go.. I have a school, but it's short, and it's not exactly teaching me a lot. What's it like?
*small smile*
Or the oil spills. I have rage quits when those happen. -
Been around? You mean alive? The only time to not ask is if it's a lady. Women don't usually like when people ask their age. But as for me, I'm twenty-two. Jay and I'll be getting our Bachelors' degrees soon.
*smiles and hums, staring distantly at the screen*
It feels like just yesterday we were in high school. It was a lot of unnecessary drama and fighting, especially with my birdie's hot-headedness back then, but the work was pretty easy. As for college, the first year isn't too bad, but the classes get harder over time. You'll need to take some hard classes to get the amount of credits you'd need to graduate.
*shrugs lightly and looks at him, a comforting smile on his face*
But like this game, I'm sure you can overcome the challenges of college. -
Yeah, that! Ehh, I figured. My mom always gets so flustered when someone asks. Alright, so you're a few years older than me.. Good to know.
*turns attention to the screen for a moment*
Oh, really? Man, sounds like a challenge. I know some of the younger kids go, but it always seemed so useless. You make it sound like something I could enjoy, beyond drama.
*accepts smile, fiddling with remote*
Yeah, right. I'd love to, but I.. I have a job back at the Carlotta castle. Not many people are doctors or know how to deal with injuries, so I've been "hired" to help. I really only have a little bit of free time, and if my boyfriend isn't around, then I sit here and play games for a bit. The others would throw a hissy fit without my help. I'd have to find a replacement to be able to go to a college. -
A few years? How old are you then? And yeah, mom's don't like that.
*laughs lightly, nodding at the other's interest in school*
Honestly, school can be fun. It just gets annoying when people don't mind their own business, especially with same-sex couples like us. But it's gotten much better just in these five years.
*goes wide eyed for a moment then quickly grabs his shoulders*
Did you just say you work as a doctor?! That's what my birdie is going to school for. He loves doing that kind of work. Maybe.. Maybe we can help, so you can get your own education. He could use the extra experience, it'll help him. -
I'm 19~ Two years younger than you.
*little grin at his laugh*
I'd definitely have fun with that. Telling people how dead wrong they are.. That's my thing, if someone wants to start it. If it's gotten better, though, that would still work.
*blinks, allowing self to be grabbed*
Yeah, I work as a doctor. I'd be more than happy to help, however.. I specialize in magic healing.
*wiggles fingers*
I do know a lot about human doctoring, though, so perhaps it'll work out just fine. -
Three years, mini me. Three years.
*pats his head*
Well, you don't want to start any unnecessary trouble either. That wouldn't be good at all. But at your age, if you didn't graduate high school, you'll probably have to get your GED then you could start college.
*blinks*
Magic..? I remember one person who used magic. But haven't seen them in a long time. The world is full of all kinds of things, isn't it? And I'm sure he'd enjoy the work and practice. -
..Oh. Right. Man, I hate math.
*puffs out cheeks while being patted*
*exhales after a bit*
True. There's the possibility of getting kicked out for causing trouble. I guess it wouldn't be smart to start anything. Where does one get a 'GED'?
*looks over at him curiously*
Really? Where I work, a lot of the people have at least a small amount of access to it. Yeah, it is full of all kinds of things. I'm sure you could find many, many kinds of people around. I'm glad you aren't acting too surprised, though. I've scared some humans into thinking I was crazy.. *pauses to laugh* I think so too. I work with people who are around your age, or so they say they are. If your boyfriend wants to come check the place out, I'm sure no one would mind it. We can all help him.
