Thread Topic: Huh.

But it was such simple math!
*laughs and lightly pokes one of his puffed cheeks*
But that's all right, mini me, I can teach you math. And yeah, getting kicked out wouldn't be good. As for your GED, or the General Education Development exam, you can register online and find a testing center nearby to take the exam. I hear it's really long, but at least you'll be able to go to college.
*shakes own head, smiling*
Not much surprises me. I honestly think..that supernatural creatures exist. Werewolves, vampires, wizards, fairies, you name it! I think all things paranormal and supernatural exist in one way or another. Jay likes to argue with me that none of that exists, but I think deep down he knows strange things are out there, too. Again, I'm sure he'll be happy to hear it. -
I mess up on a lot of things that don't have to do with healing people.. Math isn't my strongest forte, really.
*holds back another grin while being poked*
I'd love that. I don't really know anything past the basics, and even then I count wrong sometimes. Oh, wow, that sounds like a pain in the butt! You make me want to continue staying around..
*nibbles on a nail, squeezing remote*
They most certainly do. They're everywhere around here. My grandmother lives with a vampire, I think. And one of my friends used to be married to a werewolf, until he passed away.. I'm sure Jay'd love to meet one of their kind. I mean, they aren't really different from people like me, or from people like you. -
I like numbers. They're easy to work with because they're universal. But I'll leave the word problems to Jay.
*grins while moving to sit back*
It can be, but I'm sure we could figure out what kind of materials are on the test and teach you what we can. I hear the Language Arts portion is the longest, but I'm sure most of that is reading comprehension and a few essays.
*furrows brows at the nail-biting*
That's a bad habit, you know. And I feel like he'd faint if we introduced him to a vampire. He'd be so afraid of being bitten, he'd keep as much distance as possible. Although, I wonder, do vampires really change people through a simple bite? Or is there a different way? With just a bite, they would never be able to eat without killing someone. -
Word problems? What're those?
*confused expression*
Ahh.. I know a lot about Language Arts and English, so that shouldn't be a problem. History is definitely my weakest thing.. I only know the history of my area, not any of the human wars..
*slowly removes nails from mouth, looking up at him*
Is it? Ehh, all of our vampires are very friendly. He'd be just fine.
*waves hand, grinning*
Depends on the type of vampire. The ones around here, I'm not sure what they are, but they control who they turn and who they don't. Vampires have a sort of venom in their teeth that transform people, right? Some can't control that, but others can. So some can't eat without killing, but others can. It's common in younger vampires to not be able to control it too well. -
Like... Instead of just give you something like two times three, they make a word problem to explain a daily situation in a small paragraph where you have to apply what math you know to solve it. Something like, 'If you deposit $10,000 in a bank account with an interest rate at 7% compounded annually, how much money will be in the account after 10 years'. Stuff like that.
*blushes at how freaking clueless other Evan is*
Kawaii...
*shakes head and clears throat*
I actually don't know if Social Studies will be a portion of the exam. But we can teach you some history, too, even if it's not needed.
*listening closely, blinking now and then*
Vampires sound so cool... I mean I've heard from one of the others that a vampire lives where we are, but I'm not sure. What do you think about the whole vampires and werewolves being 'natural enemies' thing? Our whole lives, we've seen that werewolves and vampires never get along, that they're natural born enemies and they want to see each other dead. Yet.. I've also heard that werewolves used to protect vampires while they slept during the day. What do you think? -
Oh. That sounds awful. I'd assume it's more than $10,000, but.. Wow..
*completely blank stare at trying to understand*
*poor little Evan lmao*
I'd like that. Be safe than sorry, as they say~
*leans back, setting remote down finally*
I wouldn't be surprised if there was one. Vampires are more open in areas with people who have been exposed to them or aren't human. In a mostly human area, they might be a little shy.
*pauses, resisting urge to nibble nail*
One of my younger friends is the son of an ex vampire clan leader. He's dating some werewolf, but a few of the vampires are disgusted by him. Honestly, it's only a few people who take that to heart. It's like people on the topic of gays and lesbians, you know? You can be born into a life full of people telling you that it's wrong, but in the end, it's up to you to decide. It's the same for them. -
Exactly. I don't like word problems either. Jay can show you how to do those, how to break them down.
*sigh of relief seeing that the other didn't notice the endearment*
Well I'll know if I see someone walk around on a sunny day with an umbrella. Maybe they'll be a vampire. And I doubt they would be shy.
*puts his own remote down, thinking they're aren't going to play after all*
...How can you say it like that?
*somewhere between a look of disappointment and offense*
People always say that you choose who you love and who you're with but.. I don't think I chose Jay. The only thing I chose was to let my heart go. To open up to him. I loved him long before I knew I loved him. There is no choice, things like this just happen. But I don't think a vampire being with a werewolf is wrong either (coughsriandaaroncough), especially if the whole werewolves protecting vampires thing is true. -
I hope so.. I might not understand them even then.
*rests elbows on legs, leaning forward and resting head in hands*
*small laugh*
Not all types of vampires are affected by sunlight, actually. In fact, few of them are, at least in this area. Oh, you're right, they wouldn't be shy. Wrong word..
*looks over, startled at his change of tone*
*quickly sits back up, shaking hands*
I-I didn't mean it like that! Oh dear lord, that is so not what I meant to say! I don't believe it's a choice, I mean, I loved Pierce before meeting him, just like how you did with Jay. And I know it wasn't a choice. It was.. Not fate, but certainly something like it. I'm sorry that came out wrong..
*such an ashamed Evan expression*
*covers face, mumbling now because he gets really flustered after making a mistake*
It is true, I'm sure of it.. -
Sunlight does something to vampires, even if it doesn't kill them. The only vampire ever said to be immune to all the myths is the first true vampire, "Dracula". But who knows if such a man exists.
*takes a deep breath to relax*
I'm sorry I got upset just now... I'm just sick of people that use the word 'choose'. Like our relationships aren't real like a straight couple's. We're all human with the same insides, so why does it matter if we both have the same parts outside? Or if there are four breasts instead of two?
*sighs*
*smiles and pats his head*
That's good though, that we both have the ones for us. and we do a damn good job proving others wrong. -
..Well, now that I think about it.. That might be right. I'd have to ask.. Actually, we could go ask right now, and see what effects happen!
*waits for Evan to calm down*
No, it's okay. I understand. I shouldn't have said those words, I cringe at them too. And exactly! Anything having to do with people who are so called "different", it doesn't matter. They're just as good as us.
*head is patted*
*blushie*
Yeah.. It is. -
Ask? Ask who? Your friend? I don't want them to get hurt or anything.
*confused doe eyes*
We're all human. So it shouldn't matter what we look like on the outside. But some people..their minds are just programmed differently. They don't see things the way we do, they see everything as if they're staring down a tunnel. But I don't blame them. It's hard to break generations of religion, opinions, and mindsets. That's why racism is still an issue. Some people just can't break away from it.
*light blush*
You know, you haven't told me much about your boyfriend where I've been sitting here yapping on about mine. What does he do? Or want to do? -
Oh, I'm sure they'll be fine. A lot of the vampires use portals to get around, so it won't be a problem. We can just ask how long they can be outside 'n stuff, so..
*shrug*
Yeah, that's about right. Habits are hard to break, and there's no blame there. Can't force someone to think something.
*upon hearing Evan ask about his boyfriend, smile dims*
*looks down at feet, then looks back up, looking confident*
To be honest, Pierce hasn't told me what he wants to do. He.. A while ago, he said he was sick. His father didn't think it was possible for his offspring to get.. That sick. He's lived through it, but I don't think he has plans, not yet. We.. We did get engaged, though.
*hand slips down to finger, playing with ring*
*smiles*
I'm sure he's fine, and I can always see if he has future plans now. I mean, he's got to have something, we..
*pauses, flustered*
W-We do have kids, too. .//. He's bound to have something in mind, so we can take care of them. -
So long as they don't have to stand in the sun. I'd feel bad if they got hurt or anything all because of a question.
*frowns at little Evan's expression at first*
*smiles at his confidence*
Sick? How is he sick? Or was if he got over it. I suppose it wouldn't be uncommon for young adults your age to be unsure of their future plans. I should get my birdie a ring...
*blushes from embarrassment*
We've been together for so long... I want him to be mine.
*shocked*
Kids? At your age!? How many did you adopt? Ahh, I'm jealous... You both have everything we want years before us.. *whine, thinking about own lover* -
Well, of course I wouldn't make them do that.
*rolls shoulders*
I don't quite remember. I tried to forget about it, until I decided I'd help him with it instead. You really should!
*grins, laughing a bit*
He clearly is already yours. And yeah, kids. Two, a boy and a girl. They're my pride and joy, even if they cause messes a lot.. We might not have them both, if we were aging like you. See, my species has the ability to alter time and.. "Age jump". You see me as 19, but if I wanted to, I could easily surpass you and become 23. The only downside is I'll die earlier than you if I do too much of that, so I stopped right here. Right before becoming an adult. So I age like humans. Does that make sense? -
I know, I know! I'm not sure what kind of ring to get him though. I mean, I know what he likes and all, but I still want to get something perfect for him..
*shrugs and blushes deeper*
What I mean is I want him to be tied to me forever, through marriage and such. And that's cute, having one of each. How old are they? The way you're talking about them, they sound quite young. And the messes are stressful, but they look so cute when they're messy.
*shocked by the new information about the younger's age*
..How old are you supposed to be? Is that why you haven't gone to school? And for what reason would you want to jump over your childhood? Is it possible to go back in time, too? And I guess it makes sense, but I would like to know why.
