In this world, hybrids are treated like what half of them are- animals. They can be found in pet shops and homes alike, often wearing collars and forbidden to speak unless spoken to. It's unfair and cruel treatment, but anything else is considered socially unacceptable. Since hybrids are not fully human, they must not be treated as such.
However, there are others who disagree.
C1 is a disabled human girl (blind or in a wheelchair or something along those lines). She has always thought that hybrids should be treated with kindness and equality, so she's happy to hear that she'll be working with a hybrid of her own to help with her disability. C2 is that hybrid, miserably expecting to be mistreated by her new owner. However, she's surprised to find that C1 treats her like she's special- so special that they begin to develop feelings for each other. They both know that it's forbidden, but can't seem to resist each other when they're forced to be together 24/7... -

Name: Penny (doesn't know/was never given a last name)
Gender: Female
Age: About 16, but no one's sure
Hybrid Species: Rabbit
Looks: A little on the short side, just slightly above average weight so she's a bit curvy, pale skin dotted with freckles. Dark, curly hair that ends just above her shoulders and dark green eyes. Her ears stick up and tend to get in the way a lot, they're the same dark brown as her hair, and she's got a little poofy tail that's white, sort of like a big cotton ball around her lower back.
Wears: The clothes given to her at the pet store, black sweatpants and a plain white t-shirt, as well as a pale blue collar with metal tags.
Personality: Years of being mistreated has made her, like most other hybrids in captivity, very timid and shy. She's very curious too, though, and even if it takes her a long time to gather her courage, she likes to explore. She's always polite to humans, just like she was taught, although there are times when she'd rather just hide and stay quiet. She's got a bit of a stutter, especially when she's nervous, but when she gets attached to someone she's very affectionate.
