Name: Mallia Teiraport
Gender: Female
Age: 17
Disability: Blindness
Looks: A bit taller than most. Her eyes are a very pale blue, almost transparent because of her blindness. She has long Auburn hair, but it's more on the red side than brown, that falls a bit past her shoulders. Freckles across her face and nose, and pale skin.
Wears: Black jeans, and light blue button up shirt, sometimes with a black zip up hoodie.
Personality: Mallia is very bright and vibrante. She always has a smile on her face and loves helping people. She lost her parents when she was young, forcing her to become independent and outgoing. She believes that everyone deserves to be treated as equals, and doesn't like when people are rude. Dispite being outgoing and vibrante, she doesnt have many close friends. She tends to blush a lot when nervous. She doesn't like talking about her parents, since it makes her sad. -
she sounds cute ^^
"Penny, lobby. Now." The uniform-clad worker's shrill order made the small hybrid flinch back, looking up at the older woman with curious and worried eyes, wantin to ask why but knowing she shouldn't. "You're getting adopted today, now get in the lobby before I have the handlers drag you there." The threat of the hybrid handlers was certainly enough to scare Penny into action, and she quickly scrambled out of the cage, feeling shaky and nervous as she walked quickly towards the lobby, silently dreading seeing the next person she'd be stuck with. Stepping into the room, she was surprised to see a young human woman there. She looked kind, but Penny was still cautious. She knew better than to trust human appearances. "Ah, here she is. Ms. Teiraport, this is Penny, your new pet." Another worker said, smiling. Penny hesitantly stepped forward, wondering why the girl wouldn't look at her. -
Mallia waited patiently in the lobby for the hybrid. She knew she was supposed to call the a "pet" but that's not how she saw them. She rememered a faint memory of her mother and father with a wolf hybrid, they had all been best friends. This was before her parents died and she lost her sight. She smiled excitedly when she heard footsteps coming towards her and looked in the general direction of the sound. She heard the woman introduce the hybrid as, Penny. She flinched a bit at the word 'pet'. "Hello, Penny, my name is Mallia, but most people call me Mal or Lia. It's nice to meet you." she said aloud. "I'm sorry, I would look at you but I can't see. I'm completely blind."
-
Penny blinked in surprise. There were no orders, no commands coming for the pretty girl, what was she supposed to do? "Speak, Penny. Ms. Teiraport can't see you so you are permitted to communicate verbally." Another surprise. Usually dog hybrids were chosen as guides, why her? "...H-Hello, it's nice to meet you." She murmured after a moment, as she'd been taught. "M-My name is Penny," she added at a glare from the worker. She shuffled a little closer to the girl, staring curiously at her milky pale eyes. "...You're blind?" She asked. The worker scowled. "Do not speak unless spoken to." She reminded swiftly, making Penny's ears twitch back as she shrunk away, apologetic. She hopes they could go soon, this woman seemed much more friendly than any other human here.
-
Mallia smiled and put a hand up at the worker. "No, it's alright." she told them. She turned back towards the sound of Penny's voice. "Yes, I'm blind. I lost my part of my sight when I was a child due to an accident, and it progresively got worse." she explained to the hybrid. She didn't much like the worker being so rude, so she looked in their general direction. "Can we leave now?" she asked politely. "I'm tired and she seems like a perfect fit."
-
Penny stared at her with wide eyes, shocked that she was so willing to explain things to her so politely. The worker was still glaring, but she nodded. "Yes, of course. Penny, you'll be guiding her now. Come and help." She instructed firmly. The hybrid scurried closer, shyly taking Mallia's arm in her own. "Um, th-this way," she murmured quietly, still uncomfortable under the worker's stern gaze.
-
Mallia gently held onto Penny's arm. "Thank you" she said to the girl hybrid. Mallia could feel Penny acting shyly and timid, and wanted to make her feel more welcome, but decided she should wait until the worker was gone. She wondered what had happened to Penny, and how life was. She had heard terrible things, and hoped they were just rumors. "Penny, how old are you?" she asked quietly, so the worker wouldn't overhear.
-
Penny walked slowly, being sure to keep Mallia away from anything she might bump into as they approached the exit. "...Sixteen," she answered softly, quickly adding a polite "Miss" at the end. She took a deep breath as the worker wished Malia good luck and they stepped out of the hybrid store. She clung to Mallia's arm with a bit more dependency now, looking around with wide eyes. "...I've never been outside before." She breathed quietly, in awe of the rushing cars and bright buildings.
-
Mallia chuckled a bit. "You don't need to call me Miss. Just call me Lia." she said. She smiled at the exited girl. "Really? Never? Well. I'd say that's unacceptable. How about we go exploring?" she suggested. She was a bit excited, to be able to show Penny things. Even though she couldn't see them anymore, she was more than happy to show Penny.
-
Penny blushed, a bit confused by the casual name. "O-Oh, alright...Lia." She replied, doing her best to keep her new owner happy. At the next comment she grew rather flustered. "Oh, oh, but I-I should really be getting you home, I-I'm sorry for arguing..." She said quickly, cringing in preparation for a scolding or even a slap, it varied by person.
-
Mallia looked in her direction curiously. "You didn't argue, I offered." she said lightly. Penny seemed almost scared of her, which she understood, since the hybrid were treated so badly by most humans. It also made her a bit sad to know she had been hurt. She smiled reassuringly "We can go anywhere you'd like." she said.
-
"O-Oh, um, thank you v-very much," she blurted quickly, eyes darting around, trying to figure out what was what. "...I-I'm sorry," she said after a moment. "I-I'm not sure what to do, I-I've never been to any of these places before," she admitted quietly. Truthfully, all she wanted to do was take a nap somewhere that wasn't a cage, and maybe get some new clothes. But it would be disrespectful to ask, so of course she kept quiet, holding Mallia's arm tightly.
-
"That's alright." Mallia said, shifting her arms a bit. She reached around until she found her pocket and pulled out a small piece of paper with directions on how to get to her house. "Here. Maybe we can walk around later, but this is how we get home." she said quietly. "Do you mind helping me get there?" She knew Penny didn't actually have a choice, but thought that it was at least polite to ask.
-
"Of course not!" Penny piped up quickly. She gently took the paper and glanced up at the street signs near them, before setting off, again being sure to move slowly enough for Mallia to keep up without stumbling. "Um...L-Lia?" She asked quietly after a moment. "...Why are you being so nice to me? I-If you don't mind me asking, s-sorry," she quickly added, keeping her eyes ahead and her grip on the other's arm right but not rough.
-
Mallia was quiet for a moment. "Why wouldn't I be? I'm no better than you, you just happened to be born into different circumstances, and look a bit different. I don't agree with the way other hybrids are treated." she said, finally. She kept her grip on Penny's arm as they walked. "One day I want to do something about it." she added, quietly. She remembered the wolf hybrid and her parents again, and smiled a lightly.
