Sorry, I've been a little distracted today.)
Today was the same as any other, boring and stuck at 'work', the windows were closed and the blinds covered them. Lights lit the apartment, the laughs and conversations filled the apartment that was clearly designed by a pro. Wynter opened her first beer of the day on the side of the counter and walked into the living room everyone was working on something. She looked at what a few people were working on, "What are you doing idiot?" Wynter started, "Green and the black wire can't go together, You'll start a fire! The green and red have to be connected." They looked at her like she said something wrong, "Just do it!" She said with a groan. "That's not right. I took this apart I know how it goes together!" Wynter rolled her eyes and took a sip then put the bottle on the table, "Then your memories fried. You also need to fix the fridge, warm beer does not taste good and that milks also going to go bad really quick." -
Well, realize, it is currently midnight where I live. So I need to sleep after this response.
I understand if something is on your mind or troubling you, please don't be afraid to let me know if you need time away.)
It was boring right now, with Wynter not home to talk to. Cecile huffed a bit, checking the time and noticing what time it was. He'd have to leave for work soon, and he'd be closing up that night at his boss's request. Any sane person would refuse, but being the bookworm he was, an offer to pick whatever he wanted to take home at no cost was hard to pass up. Free reading material just for staying late was worth it to him. Besides, he'd never been attacked or bothered his whole life living in the city, what made this time any different? After changing and combing his hair, Cecile left his roommate a note that she'd have to feed herself and he'd be home late then rushed out the door to get to his job as a bookstore clerk. -
"Ten bucks says Wynter's wrong!" One of them yelled and Wynter rolled her eyes, "Nope, twenty I'm right." She said calmly, "Thirty." He said daring her, "Okay," Wanted said she reached in her pocket and pulled out a twenty and two fives, "Boot 'er up." He smiled and placed a bunch of fives on the table Wynter counted them and nodded, "Okay," He pressed the power button and the lights lit up green and the windows logo popped up on all ten of the monitors. Wynter smiled and picked up her newly earned cash, "Aww s--- you were right." Wynter smiled and nodded.

Cecile lightly chewed on his thumbnail, a bad habit really, as he walked the streets alongside other people heading to work or heading home from their jobs. The bookstore was only a few blocks away, hard to miss really, so the walk wasn't that long. With so many people out and about, the only thing he'd have to worry about is being pick-pocketed. Although he avoided that often by keeping his distance from people. If they didn't bump you, they couldn't pick you, he'd say.
He inhaled deeply when he walked into the store, listening to the old bell jingle as he made his way over to the clerk's counter. -
Gina one of Wynters friends slapped the man that made the bet on the head, "What the hell John! That was grocery money! You weren't suppose to waist it on bets you'd obviously lost before it started!" Her eyes were clouded by anger, "I'm sorry, I'm sorry, I'm sorry!" He said shrinking away from her, they all moved away from them, "Gia, you can take it if you want. You need it more than I do." She let out a long sigh, "No its fine, my sisters check should be coming in soon. We can hold out till then," she smirked, "And besides I'll win tomorrow and I'll get it back." Wynters smirked, "Bring it."

(Just gonna time skip through Cecile's boring work day if ya down mind)
Letting out a yawn and wiping his glasses again, Cecile smiled as closing time neared. He loved the old store and the regulars that occupied it for new learning material day by day. For such a terrible-looking city, quite a bit of it's populace were strong intellectuals that sought to learn. Or just have a good book to read at night. He didn't know how, but the little store seemed to have just about everything a person could ask for, and it hadn't been a target to thieves in a long time. The boy stretched his arms and grabbed the keys, making sure everything was turned off and locked up before stepping outside to do the same to the doors. Cecile knew he'd have to be as quick as possible to get home, especially at the late time of night. He could practically sense danger, even though he was alone. -
*cough*
-
Wynter sat on top of a roof across the street from the book store, she had a leg dangled over the edge and the other placed on the edge she had and arm on her knee and her head hurried in her elbow. "You always get so worked up over watching him, Wynter. He's so adorable, though." Gia said from behind her, Wynter jumped slightly. "I have to watch him, he could hurt other wise." Wynter said even though it was completely muffled by her arm in her sleeve. Gia chuckled, "You're so cute, Wynter." Wynter ignored her and stood up as he locked up the door, "I'll do my rounds after he gets home." Wynter said ignoring Gias comment, "Like always, have fun~." Gia said laughing, Wynter fixed her shirt that was black and long sleeved and then dusted off her pants and jogged over towards the next building. Wynter was always happy with the fact that the buildings were close together around here.

Cecile walked at a steady pace, trying to get home quickly. But he couldn't help stopping, more so slowing down, to wipe off his glasses. He needed new lenses, that he knew well, but he tried to save money for something better; Contact lenses. They would make everything easier, despite their cost. They won't cloud up, get dirty, or scratch-- "Oh!" The young man was pulled from his thoughts when someone bumped into him. He nearly dropped his glasses from the impact and quickly reached for his pockets. Realizing that nothing was missing, he tried to apologize, only to find a knife too close to him for comfort.
"You ain't gonna fight, right? Scrawny boy like you. Give me everything you've got and maybe I won't make a new hole in ya." Cecile shook his head after some hesitation and bolted. Maybe he could out run the thief. Maybe not. He could feel hands grabbing at his clothing. A few books weren't worth his life, but there wasn't much he could do at this point. No one would help, especially now. -
Wynter landed on the next roof with a light thud, she looked off the roof and rolled her eyes and started running towards the fire escape on the building she pulled the strap back on her mask and pulled the mask up to cover her face. She jumped off the roof onto the fire escape and it made a loud thud and shifted slightly, she started down the stairs ger radio went off at her side, "Wynd, abandon the babysitting job and come here!" Ed yelled, Wynter grabbed the railing and jumped over it landing on the platform under it, "Busy right now, I prefer my roommates without holes in them." She said into the radio although it came out funny because of her gasmask and she kept going down, "Oh something interesting tonight? Can I watch?" Wynter looked over the railing,"No, you can't and think I can make a two story jump?" She asked and held on, "Probably, I'd go for it." Gia said over the line, Wynter jumped over it and landed in a way to do the least amount of damage to her legs. She tightened her ponytail and ran off towards the street.
-
Everything seemed to just be happening in a blur. The boy was struggling for his life, and unfortunately losing as he could feel the metal blade cut over his skin. Nothing deep though, just scratches that he'd have to clean and wrap when, if, he made it home. Blood rushed in his ears, further crippling his senses. He couldn't tell if it was his own heart beat or approaching foot steps. Probably an accomplice.coming to finish him, at least that's what Cecile believed would happen.
-
Wynter ran at the one man, "This is going to be amusing~." Gia sang through the radio, "Wynd is angry~ I think ill video tape it." She continued their were snaps threw the line telling her to shut up which made Wynter chuckle. She grabbed the John Doe with the knife in a choke hold and threw him towards the ground, it wasn't enough to do real damage but it should get him away from Cecile which is what she wanted and all she really cared about right now.
-
Cecile gasped when the pressure of the other man was removed, forcefully so. He hadn't realize he wasn't breathing correctly during the struggle. He'd been so afraid that hi s body wasn't functioning, even something as simple as breathing. But someone had actually come to aid him. Or were they there for themselves? He still couldn't see, but he didn't want to stick around for what was to come next. "Thank you.." Unsure as of why, Cecile had muttered the grateful words then turned tail to escape in case the other figure wasn't friendly. Then again, despite the dark, he could tell it was a woman based on her size, the rest of his vision simply blobs of color until he reached his apartment building, finally putting the lenses back. "..Who was that..?" The young bookstore clerk exhaled deeply in thought.
-
Wynter chuckled and gave the guy on the ground a shift punch and she earned a nice crack in return, "Wynd turn around!" Gia practically screamed through the radio. Wynter moved slight looking behind her just in time to get a deep cut in the arm she flinched and bit her tongue so hard it drew a lot if blood. She disarmed him which was easy for her even with one arm since his grip was terrible. She heard a snap and flinched lightly she didn't mean to do that... She quickly put him in a sleeper hold as he was fusing over his newly broken arm, he fell limp and she dropped him not even caring about his he's hitting the cemented ground.
-
Cecile hissed a bit at the burning as he cleaned the scratches he'd received with alcohol and cotton balls. As painful as the solution was, he was glad none of them were bad enough for a hospital bill. And he was glad Wynter wasn't home. She'd likely have a fit over him being hurt, and though it was minor, it could've been much worse. The boy let out a sigh and undressed for a quick shower before putting on any bandages. He needed wash their dirt and grime of the day along with the drying blood from his wounds.
