"Nice to meet you too, Eileen," Lisa said, smiling back. "Oh! It kinda reminds me of one of the bands Alan listens to- 'Save Carnival' or something. Most of the music was stupid," She said. Looking at the door, she saw her brother peeking in. "Oh, speak of the devil."
"Thank god I found you, Lisa!" Said Alan, storming up to her. Lisa looked into his eyes, but couldn't tell if he was angry or happy. "What the hell were you thinking? You just can't wander off in large cities like that!"
"I-it's okay!" Lisa stuttered slightly. Alan rarely called Lisa by her real name. "Uh- Eileen helped me! Say hi, Alan," She said, feeling calmer.
"This was a terrible idea.." Alan sighed. He could already feel gray hairs coming because of his sister. Looking at Eileen, he extended his arm and said. "Thank you for staying with Lissa. I'm Alan, as she's probably told you." -
(You said eileen didn't care for allan at first so brace yourself)
Eileen pulled him aside, away from Lisa. "How could you lose your own sister like that! She's young, it's not her fault you weren't paying enough attention." she said, crossing her arms. "You shouldn't yell at her like that" she said, a slight fire in her eyes. -
"It's not my fault that she's twelve and still hasn't learned that you shouldn't go by yourself in crowds," Alan said, somewhat quieter. "I was not yelling," he added, "I was just being worried. How would you act if your younger sibling walked away without a clue?"
Feeling that she shouldn't be listening to them, Lisa walked over to the other side of the store, where the buggy boards were. -
Eileen stiffened slightly and looked down. "Look all I'm saying is you should keep better tabs on her. You never know what might happen." she said, quieter now.
-
In an instant, Alan felt immediately guilty. "Er, okay. Thanks," he nodded. "Lissa!" He called to the girl. "Time to go!"
"Uhhg.." Alan could faintly hear the response. Slowly, Lisa walked over. "What're we doing, now?" She asked her brother.
"We're going to one of those restaurants I saw on the way here. At least one of them can have a fish-free meal," Alan said, grabbing Lisa's hand.
"Wait, Alan," Said Lisa, pulling back.
"Hmm?"
"Eileen is a local. Maybe she could show us a place to eat?" Lisa suggested.
After a moment of thought, Alan's conscience won, and he said, "It's her choice, but I'm not opposed. Either way, I'm holding your hand."
"Will you eat with us, Eileen?!" Lisa turned to face the woman, smiling sweetly. -
Though she wasn't too keen on the older brother, the little girl was adorable, smiling up at her. She chuckled lightly and smiled.
"Sure, why not. Thank you." she said. She nodded a thanks to Alan. "So no fish, huh? I think I know a place." she said with a grin. -
"Yes!" Lisa smiled, fist pumping. "Alrighty, let's go!" She said, going to the streets.
Before she exited through the door, Alan hooked his hand onto her shoulder, pulling her back. "Nope," he said. "You wait for me. And I'll have to wait for Eileen." After pulling Lisa to him, he looked to Eileen. "So, you said there's a place?" He asked her. -
Eileen beamed "Yeah. But first.. " she took the trinket from Lisa and scanned it, handing her co-worker some money "Here ya go." she said giving it back. She started towards the door "Off we go"
-
"Thanks, Eileen!" Lisa beamed before Alan took ahold of her hand.
"So, what's the place called?" Alan asked, slightly behind Eileen. -
Eileen smiled "Eileen's. It's my Dad's cafe, he named it after me when I was born" she said with a chuckle and shook her head. She walked down the boardwalk and glanced back at them.
-
"Huh," was all Alan said. Must of had a bit of money to spend, he wanted to say! but Alan didn't want to be ruder than he usually was.
"Woah, that's so cool.." Lisa said. "Why don't you work there? It is named after you," Lisa said, slightly tilting her head. Alan tightened his grip on her, trying to tell her to be quiet, but Lisa ignored it. -
Eileen looked back at Lisa and smiled a little. "I didn't want a hand out" was all she said.
-
"Mmokay," Said Lisa. She then stayed quiet, as well as Alan. She tried walking away once in a while, but Alan tightened his grip and pulled her back every time.
-
A medium sized red painted building with a sign that said "Eileen's" came up. "This is it"
-
"Huh," Alan said, looking at it bottom to top. "Looks homey."
"Wow," Lisa said, fascinated. "Do you get food here for free?" She asked Eileen.
