Riley smiled and sat next to her.

Calanthe noticed a large scar on Riley's right arm. She grabbed his arm and looked at it, "What happened?" she asked concerned.

Riley stiffened lightly and looked down.
"When I was little, my mom an I were outside the palace in the forest. The Darkness attacked us and killed her. She fought them off so I could run ut one of them caught my arm."
A tear ran down his face and he quickly wiped it away. -
Calanthe felt bad for asking. "I'm so sorry. I shouldn't have asked." she said. She hugged him from the side and squeezed him tightly.

"It's okay.. I'm glad you did." he hugged her back. "Everyone avoids the subject, but sometimes it feels good to get stuff off my chest"

"But...I feel bad for asking, I know how it feels to be in that position." Calanthe said as she held his hand.

Riley smiled at her. "Don't feel bad. I'll tell you anything you want to know about me"

She smiled and nodded. "I'll always be here for you, I promise." Calanthe said laying down and watching the clouds.

Riley smiled and layed down next to her. "And I'll always be here for you too"

Calanthe smiled. "Can I ask you a question?" she asked watching the clouds past by.

"Of course" he said, watching a bird fly around.

"Why does the darkness want me?" she asked.

"Because you're.... the sun..." he sighed and tried to think of how to explain this. "Do you remember how I said that your mom kept all of nature in balance? Well, so do you. Even if you do in unintentionally. You bring life where ever you go. That's why animals are drawn to you"

"The sun?" Calanthe asked. "Yeah but...I don't think I'm ready for that. My mother is keeping everything in place, Imagine me in her place." she said. She sighed and thought about how horrible things can go with her in her mothers place.

"Cal I don't think you understand the effect you have on people."
