Allison followed, giggling happily as Kyla pulled her through the crowd. "Are you sure?" She stopped in the middle of the dance floor, still holding her hand, listening to the soft melody of the song. She was happy she had a friend like Kyla, so she wouldnt be totally lonely on prom.

care_bear19 NoviceKyla smiled and nodded. "Of course.." Her voice fell short when she turned around and faced her friend on the dance floor. Her eyes widened slightly as she looked at the shorter girl. The gym had been decorated with dim string up lights that reflected off of her perfectly, framing her smiling face in light. Kyla hadn't realized how beautiful her best friend was until that moment, standing on the dance floor, pushed close by the crowd and holding hands. A blush crept up her face and she hoped that Allison couldn't see it in the dim light.

"If we're going to dance, we're doing it right." Allison said with a small smile. She linked their fingers together and stepped closer, placing one hand on Kyla's waist. "You're the best, Ky." She said with a bright smile, watching the soft light illuminate her friend's silhouette.

care_bear19 NoviceKyla blushed as Allison pulled her closer, and put her other hand on her waist. "No, you are." she said smiling lightly. Why was she blushing? She thought. And why did her stomach flip when Allison looked at her? They were best friends, nothing more... Right? Kyla's head swam as she thought of all the guys she'd turned down, how she never got a crush on anyone... She looked at the shorter girl. 'Oh crap. She's why.' Kyla thought.

Allison giggled again, stepping a little closer, swaying in time with the music. "I think I'd rather spend tonight with you than Scott, anyway, she said, leaning up on her toes to brush their noses together for a second. She loved Kyla, she was always there for her, no matter what. She really was Allison's best friend.

care_bear19 Novice"Me too" Kyla breathed. She looked into Allison's big brown eyes and her stomach flipped. Her eyes flicked from Allison's lips to her eyes and back. If she didn't know any better she have almost thought she wanted to kiss Allison. Oh wait. She pressed her lips to Allisons, pulling the girl closer by the hips.

Allison's eyes widened, and for a moment she wasn't sure what was happening. Kyla was closer, their was a soft weight on her lips- then it hit her. They were kissing. Oh god, Kyla was kissing her. She squaked in surprise, not moving back, but not sure what to do or how to feel about it.

care_bear19 NoviceKyla's eyes widened, realizing what she was doing. She stepped back, releasing Allison. Her cheeks were bright red and she studdered "Alli I... I'm.. I didn't mean to.." Her head swam and she turned around and ran out of the gym and into the parking lot, her dress flowing behind her.

Allison stood there, stunned, staring at the spot Kyla had stood in just seconds ago. Her pale, freckled cheeks were dusted scarlet in a blush. She hadn't been expecting that at all. Maybe it was just impulse? Maybe it was just friendly? But Allison knew she was kidding herself. Friends didn't kiss each other on the lips. Or for that long.

care_bear19 NoviceKyla realized she was supposed to get a ride home from her date, so she didn't have her car. She cursed under her breath and looked back at the school. She started walking home just as the tears started running down her face.

Allison wandered off the dance floor, out into a quiet hall, and pulled out her phone. She was nervous and confused, and normally she would call Kyla about this sort of thing. She couldn't now... but she still needed answers. And Kyla needed a ride home. So she pressed the speed dial and held the phone to her ear, hoping Kyla would answer.

care_bear19 NoviceKyla was still walking down the street from the school,when her phone started ringing. She knew instantly that it was Allison because it was her ringtone. Kyla pulled the phone out and watched the picture of her and Allison smiling flash across the screen before she answered. She sniffled lightly and held the phone to her ear "H-hello"
