He nervously pulled back, but went back in for the kiss again. When they finally broke apart, he gave her a sad smile. "I should've been watching you. I'm sorry."
-
Octavia didn't mover her hand from his hair, but kept it there, shrugging. The cotton-like feeling had left her mouth. "It's alright," She sighed, frowning, "I should have told you. I'm prone to the things, but they're random and unpredictable."
-
"At least I know now. If you're okay with it, we should probably get some sleep." He'd finally noticed her hand, and its presence, somehow, comforting. She'd made the first move. The desire, in its purest, unadulterated form, was shared by both parties. Now he could fall headfirst into it.
-
"..I'm not very tired. Can I take a candle into the bathroom and read there? You need to sleep." Octavia wanted to finish that book tonight, it was rather interesting, even though it wasn't really a book. It was a play. A Midsummer Night's Dream was extremely well-written, and she didn't think she could sleep until she figured out what happened in the end.

"Please, Princess? If feel more comfortable if you were sleeping here with me instead." Rowan gave her a pleading look. Hopefully it helped that he hadn't bothered to put his shirt back on after the bath. His hair was almost dry, but had a fluffy, ruffled look to it. The knight scooted closer to her.
-
"Mm. Maybe, if you call me Octavia Princess is formal. I don't want to be formal with you," Octavia winced, realizing she was flirting. Of course, Rowan moving closer ruined every bit of her that wanted to keep reading. She leaned forward, pressing a small kiss to his nose, before moving to get situated under the covers.
-
He walked around to the other side of the bed and joined her, his cheeks slightly tinted pink from her kiss. "Okay, Octavia," he replied, testing the way in which the name slipped off his tongue. It sounded much softer, much gentler from his lips than from those who'd addressed her earlier. Rowan gave her a kindhearted smile.
-
Octavia moved to press her back to his, stealing a bit of his warmth, before closing her eyes, planning on getting some rest. "Hey, Rowan? Can you show me the city tomorrow, maybe? Or the castle, anyways? I've never been here before."
-
He stiffened at first, then slowly relaxed as they grew comfortable. He seemed to fit perfectly against her figure, which he found as he snuggled up against her. He wrapped his arms around her loosely, and gingerly peppered the back of her neck with a few kisses. "Sure," he murmured in her ear.
-
The princess welcomed his affection, letting a little noise slip past her lips, proving that her neck, despite the scar of the front, was one of her favorite places to be touched. Octavia yawned, muttering a goodnight, before drifting off.
When Octavia woke up, Rowan still close to her, she let out a soft sigh of content, rolling onto her side to face him. She pressed a gentle kiss to his lips, which were still parted with sleep, wanting him to wake up to her. -
He chose not to comment on the scar around her neck. Rowan wasn't entirely sure when he fell asleep, but he could remember the steady breathing of Octavia sleeping next to her.
Rowan woke up the next morning to a soft kiss on his lips. He opened his eyes partially, then shut them again, trying to hide the smile growing on his face. Sunlight streamed in the window behind the girl in front of him, illuminating the wayward strands of her early morning hair. -
Octavia moved to sit up, stretching, yawning a good morning before rolling out of the bed. She realized that she was still wearing the corset dress from the day before, and, with a sigh, took it off, grabbing the short dress from where it was on the floor. "I'm gonna wash this," She hummed, slipping into the bathroom to do just that. After, when it was hung to dry, along with her riding skirt and blouse, she realized she no longer had any clothes to wear. "Um, Rowan..?"
-
He let out a sleepy groan of acknowledgement, then forced his eyes open. Across the room, she stood naked in the doorway. Of course, that in itself wasn't anything new, but his own personal allowance to enjoy the situation made it seem much better than before. He sat up and stared at her, waiting for her to continue.
-
Octavia smiled at him. "I need clothes. Like, badly." She moved to sit next to him, leaning back on his lap. "It's cold. I'm not enjoying this," She complained, wriggling around.
