The princess stopped as soon as she entered the room, gazing around. She dropped Rowan's hand, darting towards a random shelf. It was a full thirty minutes later that she returned to Rowan, a stack of almost ten books piled in her arms. Octavia gave him a smile. "Would you help me, please?" The tower of chosen books was heavy, and Octavia wasn't very strong.
-
He waited, arms crossed, watching her for awhile with an amused expression. Eventually, he began to peruse the shelves as well, many of the titles already familiar to him. When she walked back over, he had no problem taking the books from her. "What'd you pick out?" he asked, craning his neck to look at the titles.
-
"Just some classics, and whatever seemed interesting," She hummed, taking a book off the top, opening it to read. As soon as they were back in the room, she dropped onto the bed, and indulged herself in the written word, clearly willing to wait for pants.
-
"Oh. Alright." He followed behind her quietly, taking tiny steps to avoid tripping over the unseen floor in front of him.
Once they reached the room, Rowan headed to the bathroom. He really could use a bath, and since the princess was consumed by her reading, he probably wouldn't be bothered. He filled the tub then stripped down, climbing in and submerging himself in the warm water. -
Octavia read until the words started to run together. Her head was throbbing a bit, and the princess moved to get off the bed. She stood there for about three seconds, before falling, knocking over the night stand in an attempt to stop herself from hitting the ground. That ended up being pointless, and she slipped, slamming her head into the bed frame on her way down. The princess was already unconscious when her body went into a seizure, jerking wildly on the floor.
Of course, it may have been something she should have mentioned to Rowan. Octavia had been prone to seizures, and had been since she was five. They were unpredictable, and rare, but they did happen sometimes. -
His bath had been a quick one, and he was drying off when he heard the princess slip. He secured the towel around his hips and rushed out, calling to her worriedly. He didn't reach her in time to catch her, but raced over to her side just as she started to spasm. He lifted her up and, unable to carry her out like this, placed her on the bed. Over at the door in a heartbeat, he threw it open and called down the hallway. "Someone, send up the medic! The prisoner's having a seizure!" At least, he thought that's what it was. The guards posted at the end of the corridor sprung to life and raced off to comply to his orders. He turned back to the princess, unsure of what to do to help her. He'd never been in this situation before.
-
It wasn't long after her spasms stopped that Octavia's eyes fluttered open. She made a gasping noise, sitting up on the bed, promptly going into a coughing fit. It ended quickly, and she pulled her knees to her chest, placing a hand on the bleeding part of her head. The princess let out a little sob of pain, trying to keep herself calm.
-
"Octavia," he murmured, kneeling next to her and stroking her back in hopes of calming her. "I'm so sorry. I'm so, so sorry."
After another minute or so, an older woman walked into the room. She sat on the bed and placed her bag beside her. "Hello, Princess. My name is Elena, and I'd like to help you, if you'll let me." Elena looked at Rowan, noticing the towel around his hips. "We don't really need you, so you may as well get dressed." -
Octavia nodded at Rowan, but otherwise didn't respond to him, still kind of in a haze. She mumbled a small noise of agreement to the woman, slowly lowering her legs. The girl brought her hand down, staring at the blood. Her eyes traveled to the knocked over nightstand, and the shattered vase that had been on it. For some reason, she felt really bad about the vase, and tried to apologize for it, but it felt like her mouth was stuffed with cotton. She made an upset noise, squirming around on the bed.

Rowan stood up and hesitantly walked to the bathroom to get dressed. Elena worked with Octavia, checking her over. After a few minutes, the knight returned and sat on the bed, reaching gingerly to hold the princess's free hand. Listening closely as the nurse gave orders to both of them, he silently scolded himself for not paying closer attention to her.
-
Octavia was silent until the woman left, turning to lay her head in his lap. She was still shaking a bit, and it took her a long time to form a sentence. "The vase," She mumbled, squirming a little, "I broke it.. I'm sorry." The princess then sat up, pressing a tender kiss to his mouth, her own way of saying sorry.
-
"Octavia, don't worry about it--" He was cut off by her kiss, and involuntarily let out a startled gasp. It didn't take long for him to kiss back, his surprise melted away. Who cared if she was a princess? This was worth any future trouble.
-
The princess felt a little spark of energy build up, and she pulled back for a second, before tilting her head for a deeper kiss. She slipped a hand behind his neck, and into his hair, weaving her fingers into the locks. Octavia was more than glad when he kissed back.
