Arturo pulled his hand back when he caught the sigh of frustration and frowned, taking a bite of his food before turning back to the girl who now had her eyes closed. "Are you okay, lovely? Did I upset you, it seems like it..I'm sorry." He said, truly meaning it for once.
-
Ash shook her head as best she could and groaned "Nn, I'm- ..you're fine" she mumbled. "I just want to sleep a little..."
-
"Oh. Alright, then. I can wake you up when lunch is over.." He said with a small smile, even though he knew the girl wouldn't see it with her eyes closed. That being said, he leaned over a pressed a light kiss to her forehead before pulling away and going back to eating his meal, saying nothing of it.
-
Ash sighed and mumbled a "thank you" before turning her attention towards trying to sleep. Just before she went out, she felt Arturo kiss her forehead, and she fell asleep blushing.
-
Arturo spent the rest of lunch eating his meal and watching Ash sleep, which totally wasn't creepy to him, before the bell rang. He gently nudged the younger's shoulder to wake her up as he stood, crumbling up his trash and tossing it inside the nearest trash can. "Time for class."
-
Ash was awake almost immediately, standing up and nodding tiredly. "Thank you..." She couldn't help thinking how nice he was being and how badly she had treated him. That thought alone made her miserable, but she shouldered her backpack and waited for Arturo to get his stuff together.
-
Arturo threw his bag over his shoulder, adjusting the strap a little before smiling fondly at Ash. "To class we goooo~" He sung, already heading toward the cafeteria exit. "I can't wait, I have Algebra next. We have some test to see what we know from last year and I'm actually excited," he gushed.
-
Ash chuckled and followed after, smiling at his excitement. "Well that's good, being excited about a class. Maybe you can help me.. Algebra isn't really best subject." Immediately after, she regretted saying that. He was already doing enough for her, why did she have to go and push it? She inwardly kicked herself.
-
"That's probably the only class I'm ever excited about. I don't really like English class because grammar and s--- just isn't my thing, but it's gotten a bit better since you've came.." He said with a smile. "I would be thrilled to help you," he said, looking at her fondly.
-
She nodded, not relating to the feeling of hating English, but knowing how other people could have it. She blushed a little and glanced away, still mad at herself for asking the question in the first place. Not sure how to respond, she gave a small hum after he said he would help. She really didn't know how to respond do things like this.
-
When he reached the point where all the hallways connected and they had to part, he leaned over a pressed a fond kiss to Ash's forehead. "Be good in class," he teased, knowing she probably was one of the best students in every class. He headed down Hallway B towards algebra after waving goodbye.
-
Ash stood there and stared after him for a while before someone bumped into her. Before thinking about what she was going to do, her feet carried her where her brain wasn't permitting, chasing after her friend. "Arturo!"
-
Arturo stopped and turned around, shoving his hands deep into the front pockets of his dark skinny jeans. "Yeah? Something wrong?" He couldn't think of another reason besides something being wrong for her to chase after him.
-
For once in her life, she told her brain to shut up. Arturo was being too nice to her after what she did to him, and it wasn't in her interests to let her brain tell her to brush it off. Shoving through people, she quickly shook her head. When she reached him, she grabbed the front of his hoodie and pulled down a little. She knew she wasn't able to reach his forehead, even on her tiptoes, so she kissed his chin instead. It wasn't much of a kiss, just a quick brush, and she was running away before she was able to register the feeling.
-
Arturo didn't think he had ever been more surprised in his life. Not when his parents gave him a huge weekly allowance, not when he figured out he was as gay as gay could be. But no, this topped everything. Even when she left, he stood there with a dumb smirk on his face before snapping out of it and heading to class, face flushed.
