It really is oh my god xD
"But it's a fun outside place! With rides, and kids, and candy, and happiness.." He said, eyes shining as if Disney Land was his prized baby. He was about to go on when the bell rang loudly. He quickly gathered his stuff and threw it in his bag. "Urg. Gym.." He mumbled. -
Ash quickly packed up her things, making sure her notebook was secure in her backpack. She shouldered the heavy thing and made a face. "Don't get hurt again."
-
"I'll do my best not to. But, you know, I didn't really mind spending most of my day with you, alone," he said with a wink and a chuckle, strutting out of the classroom like he owned it with a small smile and a wave.
-
Since they were kind of headed the same way, Ash was able to roll her eyes and reply. "I won't be there this time. I have a math placement test and won't be leaving the room." As soon as she left the room, people were already jostling her around. Since she was a Junior, technically it should only be Seniors, but since she was short, it was anyone taller than her. She grunted and dodged people on the way to her locker.
-
Arturo pouted at that but gave a small chuckle as he jogged over to Gym. He didn't feel like changing out of his onesie and wanted to just rest today, so he used his injury as an excuse to sit on the bleachers while they played basketball. He climbed up to the top bleacher and sat down, taking out his phone.
-
Ash was told to only bring ID, so she snatched her student tag and quickly made her way to the Test Center. She was let in almost immediately and placed at a computer, a piece of scrap paper and a pencil to work with. She sighed and got to work.
-
Arturo spent most of the period scrolling through Instagram, laughing at some of the posts he saw seeing as he followed a lot of funny accounts. Soon enough, the bell rang, and it was time for Algebra, his favorite class. He quickly got up and skipped down the bleachers, heading to class.
-
Ash was done long before the bell rang, so when students started filing out of classrooms, she was standing at her locker arranging her stuff. Since it was on top, she was on her tiptoes. This was unfortunate when a student jostled her and her balance was easily thrown off. She had been stacking books on that top shelf, and the hard shove the jock had directed made her tip everything, raining thick textbooks down upon her. She tried curling up as hardbacks and think binding of hundreds of pages hit her head and back.
-
Arturo was heading towards his locker to get his notebook and textbook for Algebra, shoving through the crowd when he saw Ash fall. He came over as fast as he possibly could with all the people around her and dropped his own stuff, scooping the younger up and pushing all of the textbooks to the side. "Oh my God, are you okay?" He asked, obvious worry in his voice.
-
Ash was gasping for breath, trying to regain the air that 600 pages of Physics knocked out of her. She slowly nodded and tried to calm down. She went to say that she was fine, but nothing came out. She sat there breathing heavily, not really knowing who was holding her, but hoping they wouldn't let go, because it felt nice.
-
"Okay, you're not okay, I get that now," he muttered under his breath, lifting Ash up so he was holding the younger bridal style. He leaned close to her face, trying to see if there were any obvious marks. "Do you need to go to the nurse, beautiful?" He asked, narrowing his eyes.
-
She didn't register who it was until she heard "beautiful." By then, she didn't care who it was, though; she moved her head away anyways. She had put on makeup, but she wasn't that good at it, and anyone that got too close would easily be able to see the cuts and bruises underneath. She shook her head rigorously "I'm fine, I'm fine, it just startled me, is all..." Her breathing was still shaky, and she was trying to figure out if she wanted to pick up her books or stay where she was, comfy and all.
-
"You don't look fine, what's with all those cuts and bruises, they don't look new.." He said softly, bringing his hand up towards Ash's face and tracing the cuts. "Makeup. Why are you wearing makeup?" He asked with a slight smirk. "Maybe I shouldn't put you down, are you dizzy?"
-
Ash wiggled now, trying to get away. "I'm fine, that's none of you're business, no I'm not dizzy." Of course, the last part was a lie, but she didn't need Arturo, of all people, to know what was going on.
-
He frowned, knowing the younger was lying. He set Ash down on his feet without question, though, because that's what he said he wanted. "Alright..Do you need help getting to your next class?" He asked, bending down and picking up all of the heavy textbooks that fell from the locker.
