"What 'other' family?" Chris asked. "I-I'm sorry for bothering you, but.."

Maddie peaked out of the bush and was out of it before Carter could pull her back Carter then fell out of the bush
"'Oh crap " Carter muttered hoping they hadn't been noticed -

Carter tried to get maddie to hide but it was to late .... ( dun dun dun) -
"Hello darling how was the trip *he said to maddie in a fatherly voice*, you see chris you might be her real family but she is also a part of our family to."

Carter turned to maddie
" what's he talking about " she asked -
"But.. You and me are completely unrelated?" Chris tilted his head, not paying attention to Maddie or Carter.
'FULLY RECHARGED' it flashed over her eyes. Artemis unhooked herself from the drips and pipes that helped her charge up. She stretched, sighing in relief as her back popped. Yawning from time to time, she made it to the entrance. -
"You must be Carter, my daughter maddie was talking about you."
Offers her a hand. -
"We don't look at the blood son, we look at the bond."

Carter shook the masks hand

He nodded slowly. "I... think I understand..."
Artemis, almost walking into the cold, stopped, when she heard a voice. A voice that felt so familiar, yet so foreign. "Who..?" She whispered to herself. Taking out her bow and an arrow, she walked out, prepared to shoot any intruder.
