Landon stood up straight and tucked his skateboard under his arm. "The old lady I stayed with died this morning. She liked doughnuts." He shrugged and started walking. "No big deal."
-
"Oh....I'm sorry." She mumbled, walking alongside with him. "What do you mean by ' the old lady you stayed with'?"
-
Shoving his hands in his pockets, he chewed on his bottom lip. "I ran away from home a year ago. I don't really have a place to stay, so I spent the night there sometimes. Sometimes I just didn't sleep, and if I did, it was beside the club."
-
"Do you have a place to stay now?" she asked, looking over at him. Sara studied his face for a bit. "How old are you, anyways?" she asked, continuing to bombard him with questions.
-
Landon looked down at her. "Too many questions. No, I don't have a place to stay now. And I'm 18." He chewed the inside of his mouth, then turned his head foward so he was no longer looking at her. The bakery was coming into view, and there was a line from the doors to the club.
-
"Oh, sorry..." Sara mumbled, looking down at the ground. The idea of him staying with her crossed her mind for a split second, but was immediatly shot down by the thought of her religious household.
-
When the finally reached the bakery, he turned to Sara. "Stay out here." Without waiting for an answer, he pushed past the people waiting in the line, and walked straight up to the counter. The man from early slid twelve boxes of doughnuts towards Landon. "Twelve dozen. Have a nice day." The man said. Landon nodded and picked up the boxes, trying not to drop them. As soon as he was outside,he said, "Grab six Sara. Help me carry them."
-
"Okay, well where are you gonna bring them?" she asked, taking 6 boxes of donuts from his arms. She tried to ignore the strange looks people gave them as they walked past.
(Friends house? And 12 dozen is 144.) -
Landon started walking towards a large neighborhood, carrying the boxes of doughnuts and his skateboard in his arms. "To my friend's place. Don't worry about where were going."
(Yup. Well, little Landon has 144 doughnuts .3.) -
"Ok." She agreed, walking in silence next to him.
(idk what to say man. Yes~) -
When they reached the neighborhood, Landon walked up the driveway of the first house on the right. Before Landon had even reached the steps of the front porch, the door was already open and a girl with bright blue eyes and long black hair stood there. "Ashley, this is Sara. Sara, Ashley." Landon walked up the steps and Ashley hugged him.
-
Sara looked past Landon and the girl, stepping into the house. "Hm. Ridgewood St, huh?" she asked, seeing how nice the house looked. It had polished wood floors, and large sunroom past the kitchen. Ridgewood St was the street behind hers, and she was always jealous of the large, luxurious houses.
-
Ashley pulled away from Landon and turned on her heel, nodding at the question. "Yeah. Pretty sweet place, if I do say so myself." Ashley walked into the house and Landon came behind her. Ashely shut the door behind Landon and looked at the boxes, grinning. "You brought doughnuts?" Landon nodded and sat them down at the kitchen counter. "You can have some, I guess." Landon said sarcastically, laughing.
-
"Lucky." she muttered, setting the remaining 6 boxes on the counter next to the others. She walked passed the kitchen and onto the sun deck, peering outside. 3 houses down, she saw a familiar looking backyard, with a trampoline in the middle. She soon realized that she was standing in what she labeled as 'Rich-b---- house #4'. She looked back at Ashley, shrugging. "Eh."
-
Ashley smirked and wrapped her arm around Landon's neck. "I know what you're thinking. Us stuck up rich people. I'm nothing like that." She turned to Landon and smiled. "Isn't that right, Lance?" Landon grinned at the old nickname and nodded. Landon nodded towards the boxes. "I think they're is glazed and chocolate. No clue, really."
