Tae stopped and tilted his head, staring at the hybrid. "A timid one, are you? Look, I'm not going to hurt you. I have food and shelter. I'm just trying to help." Tae glanced down at his watch. He was already ten minutes late for work. He sighed and turned his attention back to the hybrid pressed against the wall.
Raymond jumped up onto the couch and stayed on his hands and knees glancing out the window. -
Charles suddenly thought he saw movement up in a window above him, and he looked up. There was an unfamiliar face, but the one beside that was Raymond- that was the dog hybrid that'd left weeks before, when Charles was too shy to go. Though, Charles also remembered that he did not get along with Raymond at all. His nose crinkled, and he looked back at the human that was approaching him, looking him up and down. If he was with another hybrid, maybe he wasn't so bad.
-
Raymond let out a small growl and pulled away from the window.
Tae followed the hybrids gaze and looked up at the window. He only got a small glimpse of Raymond before he pulled away from the window. Tae looked back to the hybrid. "It's cold and it's raining. Please come." Tae didnt know why he was begging for him to come, but he felt somewhat..drawn to the hybrid, as if they were two puzzles pieces that fit together. He shook the thought from his mind. -
Charles hissed at the stranger again, softer. He was sort of cornered, and wasn't too comfortable with this guy slowly encroaching upon him.
Jeremy picked up on the hybrid's hissing, and pushed his window open all the way, leaning out of it. "Tae, it's a cat! Not a dog!" He shouted down, making Charles hiss again and back away into the corner. -
Tae stared at the hybrid, startled by what Jeremy said. "A cat?" He said in a soft whisper. Tae took a small step away from the hybrid. "I..I'm not scaring you, am I? I'm not trying to..I'm just trying to help." Tae didnt feel like it was him talking; he had never cared about helping something; or someone this much.
-
After a second, Charles took a step forward, his hands together in front of his chest. It had really started raining by then, and when he took a second step, he had stepped out from the cover of the roof and got a good wave of rain over him. He quickly jumped back, but his upper body had gotten pretty wet.
-
Tae watched the hybrid with intense curiosity. "I have an umbrella," He said in a gentle, smooth voice. He pulled the large, white umbrella out of his bag and opened it.
-
Charles jumped at the opening of the umbrella, staring with wide eyes at the thing. He had no idea what it was, but he reached out, and noticed that underneath it there was no rain, just like under the roof. So he stepped out, beside the stranger, to be under his rain stopper.
-
"Just follow me.." Tae said, and slowly started walking back to his small apartment, trying not to touch the hybrid. Tae opened the door to this apartment and closed the umbrella. "After you~"
-
Jeremy ran to his phone once Tae and the cat hybrid were out of sight, wanting to stay updated on what was going on.
Charles knew that the only reason he followed the person was because if he tried to run now, he'd get wet, and he absolutely hated water. In fact, when they reached a doorway, he went inside simply because the stranger was closing his rain stopper. As soon as he'd gotten inside, a loud sound came from one side of the room, and in the blink of an eye he managed to hide himself by squeezing between the back of the couch and the wall. -
Tae walked inside and heard the phone ringing as soon as he stepping in. Quickly shutting the door, he ran to grab it. Tae looked at the hybrid who was not behind the small, white couch. "I'm sorry about that. You're kinda like Raymond, with loud noises and such." Tae picked up the phone. There was no point in going to work now, twenty minutes late. "Hello?:
-
Charles didn't respond, only stayed huddled behind the couch. He'd never heard such a loud noise before, and it was kind of terrifying, so he planned to stay where he was for a few minutes.
Jeremy answered him, "Hey, how's it going? You're in the house? Is he with you? Did you ask if he's hungry yet? Has he said anything? Check his shirt tag for a name, that's where I found Raymond's. But don't do it if he doesn't want you to, he might bite you. I don't know, I didn't even know there were cat ones. Am I rambling? I'm so excited." -
Tae rolled his eyes and leaned against the wall. "Yes, you are rambling. And I was just about to do those things before you called," he lied. Tae examined the hybrid behind the couch with his eyes. Hes so..adorable. He snapped out of the daze he was in. "I have to go now. Goodbye." Tae said quickly and hung up. He knelt down in front of the cat. "I'm sorry about that. Are you hungry? I have canned food, some fish.."
-
Charles shook his head at the stranger, his ears perking up to attention. The ringing had been stopped for at least a few minutes, and so he climbed up, over the top of the couch and rolled onto the cushions. Finally, he was able to show his tail, so he went ahead and pulled it out from where he'd had it tucked away down his pants.
-
Tae watched as the hybrid pulled out his tail. "Your name..Can I check the tag of your shirt? I don't have to but..it would help." He eyed the door, making sure there was no way the hybrid could get past him if he tried to flee. But what did he care, if the thing ran?
