(I know right? Sure I'll start ^~^)
The scent of the rain that had fallen earlier that morning was still there by the time midnight came. Lilith loved that smell and a small smile was painted on her lips as her feet softly walked along the grass. She was doing something crazy and against school rules, but she didn't care. Going out at night was something that she loved to do, and she had let the school rules control her for years anyways, and she was sick of it. Lilith was almost certain that she could control herself around humans at that point, and if she felt thirsty, she would run back to school and hopefully no harm would be done. "I can do this," she said softly to assure herself. -
Matthew looked at the rows of books that were layed out before him. He knew he shouldn't be out this late, but he really wanted to find this one book. Matthew scanned the shelfs eager to find it, and was disappointed when he couldn't find it. He walked out of the old bookstore feeling defeated. Matthew had told his mother that he would come straight home afterwards, but he wanted to take a walk. What bad could come from a short walk around the city?
-
A sigh escaped Lilith's lips as she picked up the pace a little. Soon enough, her feet hit the hard sidewalk and she was walking deep into the heart of the city. The smell of humans was something really new to her since she had never walked into a city full of humans before. They smelt... odd. Some humans smelt good, others not so much. She tried to ignore the smell; ignore the blood. If she thought about the blood, things might get messy.
--
A group of three men were in an alley, loitering around. They were a group of blood thirsty men, ready to pick out their next victim to mug. They were wolves, wolves who loved and enjoyed on picking on the weaker, and they possibly had just picked out their next target. A boy around the age of sixteen was taking a walk around; alone. Could they get anymore lucky? -
Matthew was about to pull out his phone to text his mother about what he was doing when he heard a noise. He turned his head to the left and saw a small cat lying on top of a trash can. Matthew smiled and spoke in a soft voice. "Hello, little one." He gently picked up the white cat and scooped it into his arms. His mother was a veterinarian; maybe it was sick. He continued his way down the street and completely forgot about texting his mother.
-
As if the men were cats, they slowly started to walk after the boy, their feet silent on the sidewalk. Slowly, but surely, they picked up speed after the boy. Soon enough, the man who seemed to be the leader of the three, grabbed onto the boy's arm and forced him to stop walking with a tight grip. "Hi there young man," he said in a deep and scratchy voice. The stench of beer and smoke literally rolled off of the man's body as he stared down at the boy. "We were wondering if you could help us with something." With that said, one of the other men pulled out a knife that glinted in the moon light. That man smiled a toothy grin and he let out a small laugh that was more of a grumble. It was clear these men were a bit crazy.
--
As Lilith walked, she noticed four people on the other side of the street from her about a block away. She stopped walking for a minute and just looked at them, hoping that they couldn't see her. The setting seemed a little odd, as if there was a pack of wolves about to bite down on a poor lamb's neck. She couldn't help but watch to see what happened next. -
Matthew looked up at the man the stared down at him. He could smell the booze on his breath, but Matthew had never been one to not help someone. He then glanced over at the other men, one was holding a knife. Matthew bit his lip and clutched the kitten close to his chest. "Y-You need help?"
-
The man with the knife made his way around to the other side of Matthew so the knife was only a few inches away from his back. At Matthew's words, the first man laughed and he tightened the grip on the boy. "Yeah, we could use some help," he said as the third man walked over to Matthew and reached into his pockets, trying to find anything of value.
--
From a distance, Lilith was watching all of that take place. She instantly knew what was happening as soon as she saw the knife glint off of the moonlight and her hands clenched into fists. Should she help the boy? Or would that only make her thirsty and possibly kill the three men around the boy? But she couldn't just leave the boy to fend for himself! It was all so confusing to her! -
Matthew stood completely still as another man looted his pockets. He looked down at the small kitten who was about to slip out of his arms. Matthew gasped as the kitten slipped from his arms, and he knelt down to pick it up, ignoring the danger around him
-
The first man, the man holding Matthew, felt the boy start to kneel down to pick up the white kitten he had in his arms, and so his grip became tighter; bone crushing even. "Where do you think you're going kid?" the man questioned, a huge jackass smirk growing on his face.
--
Lilith had made her decision, and she wasn't going to wait any longer. Her feet started to move with little thought, and her feet were silent like a cats. She wanted to scream at them, shout at them to stop, but the adrenaline coursing through her made her mind fuzzy, and so no words came to her mind. Instead, she walked faster and faster towards the four figures, ready to help the boy who was being mugged. -
Matthew let out a small whimper and watched as the cat ran away. That was one lucky cat, he thought. The man's tight grip was hurting Matthew. "Y-Your hurting me.." He whispered.
-
Lilith heard the boy whimper and that's when she snapped. Her strides became longer and her white eyes seemed to show brighter in the dark. "Hey a--holes!" she shouted at them, not being herself in the least. "Why don't you let the kid go you sick b------s?"
Her red hair swirled around her in flapping flames as she got closer and closer to the group of people. She was ready to do anything as un-rational thoughts crossed her mind. -
Matthew turned his head; that was the only thing he was physically able to turn with the tight grip on him. He saw a girl whose hair looked like fire. She was yelling something, but the ringing in his ears blocked it out. The grip was cutting of his circulation, and he began to see spots.
-
As the group of men saw Lilith speed towards them, they laughed at her. "Oh look, it's a little girl trying to save the day," the man who was taking things out of Matthew's pockets said. The man then slowly walked towards Lilith, ready to deal with the girl and possibly mug her as well.
--
The words the man had said added extra fire to Lilith, so as soon as the man got in arms length, she punched him across the face, making the man drop to the ground. She looked up, her eyes catching the light adding an even more eerie glow to her eyes and she was ready to go after the other two. From the looks of it, the other two men were taken by surprise as the first man started to loosen his grip on Matthew. "Let him go," Lilith said through gritted teeth. -
Matthew felt dizzy, but some blood was starting to come back to him. He found himself leaning against one of his attackers, struggling to keep standing. He felt lightheaded, and any noise made him flinch. He saw the girls mouth moving, but he heard nothing.
-
The first man felt Matthew leaning against him, and he roughly pushed him to the ground and he turned to face the girl that was walking their way. Easily, Lilith was able to take the two men out without spilling any blood at all, so at least there wasn't any trigger for her to bite any of them. Lilith let out a sigh as she slowly began to calm down. Her thoughts were less fuzzy, and she was beginning to think more straight.
