The young teacher was relaxing, having made himself something to eat for dinner as he created lesson plans for his classes. He wasn't entirely sure what the students were doing before he got there, but he'd asked other English teachers and gotten some ideas of what to do from them. "Just have the students read, then the projects and work are up to me. Don't be too harsh, don't be too easy." He muttered to himself.
-
Afterwards, it was a short walk to his friend's house, who's door was unlocked for him. The moment he stepped into the house, he wrinkled his nose. "Dude. Holy hell. Mark, what is that?"
"Dead cat."
"You're kidding, right?"
"Nope. Got in an open window, hid in my closet, and freaking died."
"Have you tried opening the windows to air the place out..?"
"Nope. Don't want another cat," Mark said, coming around from the kitchen, chewing on an apple. He nodded at the bag. "You get the right size?"
"Extra small? Yeah."
"Dick." -
Matty wrote every thought and idea that came to his mind for his seniors and juniors, stopping the nibble on his pencil then continue again. He was anxious for the break to end, to meet his new students. Especially one that appeared on his lists. "..I'm surprised he didn't realize which of his teachers retired.." He smiled a bit then sighed, remembering their deal. "Don't be stupid, Matty, he's still a kid until his birthday."
-
"Who're you f---ing, anyways," Charlie asked, setting to putting away the noodles before grabbing an apple. He pulled himself up on the counter, shrugging down at Mark, who huffed at him. "Some boy from work. And you, lately?"
"Oh. Dude, you're not even gonna believe this. I f---ed with a teacher."
"You're insane," Mark scoffed, raising an eyebrow. "Details?"
"None given. And I didn't know, at the time. Work, you know." -
Matty was nibbling on his pencil again then set it down, pulling off his glasses to set on the desk beside the writing utensil. His eyes hurt from exhaustion and a yawn escaped him as he locked up the door and shut off his tv, trudging to his room to get some rest. "Just a few more days..Then work begins..."
-
"Woooork," Mark drug out the word, raising an eyebrow at him. "And how's that?" Charlie fell silent, playing with his fingers, keeping his eyes on the floor before he responded. "You know, it is what it is. Gets the bills paid. Yeah." The older boy shrugged.
"You were working last night?"
"Mhm."
"Couple girls got taken in last night, just so you know. Be careful." -
Once more his sleep was clouded with confusing dreams and their ever changing ways. The faceless partner, strange symbols here and there, memories. Everything seemed to just play back in Matty's mind. For what reason? He was unsure. The only thing he knew was that the sudden mass of dreams were not usually a part of his rest. It was all new.

"Got picked up by the cops, or kidnapped?" There was a huge difference between the two things, though both meant he'd have to find a new place to hang out. Mark shrugged, and informed him that it had been cops. The boy sighed, running a hand through his hair. He turned his attention to giving Mark his condoms. Of course, he got threatened with having to sleep on the street for the packaging, but he knew Mark didn't mean it.

(I gotta skip through time :B)
It'd been a few days since Matty had been to the school, and now he'd be returning to get ready to work. He didn't know if he excited or scared, the fear of being judged always lingering in a person's mind. But at least he had authority, so these kids wouldn't get away with just anything. Not while he was their teacher. "Half hour until class begins...Let's see what we should do today." -
(yay)
It had been a while since Charlie had been home. Now he was only there to grab his school clothes and bags. He'd stayed with Mark when he wasn't working, as he didn't want to risk running into his dad again. Now, though, he needed to get ready for school. Mark was taking him, so he didn't have to walk, which was a plus, he convinced himself as he slipped into a pair of jeans, a button up, and a beanie the had fandom pins on it. He felt normal in these clothes, and almost happy. -
Matty was seated at his desk, typing up his introduction and lesson plans for each class. He had juniors his first, third, and fifth periods. Seniors second, fourth, and seventh periods. He was free with students for the second lunch period and had a time for planning sixth period. He was fine with the schedule...if lunch came just a little earlier. "Twelve-twentyfive until twelve-fiftyfive? That's insane..The first is..eleven-thirty to twelve. They make these kids wait longer every year. Hope they don't die of starvation."
-
When Charlie got to school, he heard through a couple of friends that their English teacher had been replaced by some new guy. Of course, Charlie thought. He'd have second period with the man he had slept with. Whoo.
The bell rang for first to start way too soon. He had Chemistry, though, and was hoping for one of those lectures that seemed to go on for hours. He wished first period lasted for hours.. -
The new teacher enjoyed his first class of juniors, and as fun as it was to joke around with them, he made it clear when enough was enough. "Juniors were studying the Romantic Era of poems, yes?" Some students nodded and gave small response, putting a smile on his face. "All righty then, everyone pull the book from under your desks and open to page..." And so his class continued until the bell.
-
Charlie was tempted, for the first time in his life, to skip class. He knew he was overreacting, but feared how awkward it was going to be. He'd always made a point of avoiding clients in public, but he didn't seem to have a choice now. When the bell rang, he gathered his books, slipped his bag on, and headed towards his locker, wishing he didn't have to wait until lunch to slip out for a smoke.
Of course, home wasn't the only place Charlie endured name calling and sometimes a beating. School was worse, though, because he always got questioned as to why the boys were "picking on him," as the teachers called it. And Charlie couldn't tell the principal, who was a preacher, that it was because he was gay. Because that would result in phone calls home and other stupid s--- he didn't want to deal with. So, when one of the boys from the football team slammed the locket shut on his hand, Charlie sucked it up, carried his books in his other arm, and headed to class. -
Matty had somehow ended up sitting cross-legged on a pedestal in front of the class, waving off his first real class of students. In about five minutes, the first wave of seniors would be there to learn from wherever they were at last. He understood that they had a large project planned by their previous teacher to read choice books and make a graffiti picture in groups based on the books they read.
