He raised his eyebrows and left, shutting the door behind him.

Her mind wandered back to the dream she had almost every week.

Lillian bounded into Roy's room, showing off her latest work. He ruffled her head, places the painting on a stand near his dresser and prepared to take her outside for fresh air.

"Sara, take Tanner upstairs, let me and Dan handle this." her mom said, rushing the two children up the stairs. She grabbed her little brother's hand and hid in the bathroom, locking the door behind them."

The two let Jake know where they were going, received their trackers, and went out into the woods near the house.

"Are we gonna die?" Tanner asked, looking up at Sara with teary eyes. "No, I wont let you-" her words were interupted by a loud gunshot coming from downstairs, followed with footsteps running upstairs. She held her brother close, heart beating faster than a hummingbird's.

They played for a while, climbing trees and hopping across streams.

The door burst open just a second later. There was a man wearing a mask, pointing a gun at them. "Downstairs, now." he ordered. The 2 followed him downstairs to see their mom tied up, and their dad in the middle of the floor, lying in a pool of blood.

He kept her entertained, letting her play princess and carrying her around on his shoulders.

"Daddy!" Tanner yelled, rushing to his dad's side. Sara ran to her mother. The next thing she knew, her mother was dead, and she was tied up next to her brother. The man looked at the two frightened children, eyeing Sara over. "You. You get to live, for now. But I'll be back for you." Those were the last words she heard before another gun shot sounded, and the world went black.
