He poured himself a cup when he had a moment, then went back to making pancakes.

She took a minute to look him over. She had to admit to herself that she liked the way his hair was so perfectly messy. Maybe she did like him. And she was definitely growing more attached to him.

"You should come get some of these while they're hot, he told her, pouring the last of the batter into three perfect plops.

"Thanks." She grabbed a few from the stack of about 20, putting them on a plate before dousing them in maple syrup.

He waited for the last three to finish, then moved them onto his own plate. He added a few more from the plate of finished pancakes, then set the pan in the sink. -
s--- i meant to put 10 who eats 20 pancakes (no offense if you do)
Everly sat back down at the table and shoved bites of pancakes into her mouth. -

He buttered his pancakes and poured some syrup on them, then joined her at the table. -
yea i eat like 2 or 3
"Do you guys ever get spotting shifting by humans?" she asked between a mouthful of food, our of sheer curiousity. -
i eat six max but they're not big they're like the size of my palm
"Well, yeah. Once or twice. That's why there are stories about us, even if most of us don't mingle with human society very often." He took a sip of coffee. "We eat the humans that find out about us," he joked. -
(Oh ok that's not too bad)
"Very funny." she said, finishing her pancakes and coffee. -
and i hardly have pancakes
"What's that, by the way?" he asked, pointing to her phone. -
(Same.)
"Um....what do you mean?" she asked, confused as she looked at Lyall, then at her phone, then back at Lyall. -
i want pancakes and burgers
"I don't know what that is. That thing you're holding." He frowned.
