In what is most likely the distant future, several violent diseases have come up. Now a new type of injection has come to light. It's in its trial stage, you see. An end-all cure that should prevent the youth of the world from contracting those fatal illnesses. People from all over the world are offering up their young children to be part of the trial, looking toward a shining and healthy future for their loved ones. Most are selected for the study. All, in fact.
The cure, as it turns out, is an injection of several microscopic machines. They circulate throughout the body and place the user in a coma. The machines then transmit and connect with those in the other users, linking their brainways and locking them in a world in their own heads. It appears to be a rough copy of the world they already live in, however, the only people that live in it are the users- the kids and teenagers being subjected to the study. Because of this, the many systems and services run by other people quickly shut down and cease to function. It is in the ensuing panic that the users realize the other major difference between this world and the waking one. The world around them can be manipulated by their thoughts. What they will to be shall be.
The cure to the fatal diseases turns out to be the placement of the deathly ill into a sleep-like state in which, if their will is strong enough, they can live happily in a world where nothing goes wrong and their families, if their memory serves them well enough, exist alongside them. This can happen due to the fact that the entire world is a manifestation of the users' thoughts and brainpower. The machines stop all unnecessary functions of the body so that no disease can continue to spread. They'll live a long life inside a world of their own creation. The agency that created it just needs a good example of it's affects to patent the "drug".
One of the flaws they hope to work out is humanity's inherent desire to expand. They can't place the fatally ill into a world where they'll just live in a war with weaponry of unimaginable creative and destructive force. This flaw shows itself in the study as the world that started out curious, then turned to panic and then to relief fades into bickering and battle. The users are looking to build armies, to rule this infinite world and to take over. Those with more intelligence and quicker wits begin to kill off the slower ones, and, to the agency's horror, when they die within this drug-induced dream, all bodily functions shut down in the physical world as well, and the user dies.
At this point, it's impossible for the agency to take them from their dreams. The word of the evil things that had already happened and of the initial lie the agency told to the public- which was that the study was a long-standing research camp that would involve the injection of drugs and the simple documentation of blood-cell count and heart rate- would spread via the users and destroy the agency. As such, they're forced to sit back and watch as thousands of kids murder each other within the safety of their own minds. -
Real name: Cassandra Easting
Real sex: female
Real age: 17
Real race: human
Real appearance: Pale skin, a bit on the tall side for her age, long brunette hair, green eyes. A little heavy, not particularly pretty.
Background: Comes from a pretty average, middle-class family. Lineage on her mother's side displays a lean on the weaker spectrum of the immune system.
Changed name: Black Cat
Changed sex: female so not actually changed
Changed age: 21
Changed race: cat demon, basically this is me you get it
Changed appearance: long, wavy, blood red hair, bangs covering an eye of course because that's my style, golden eyes, sharp teeth and claws, olive skin, anti-possession tattoo on chest over heart, cold sun tattoo on right hand, wears black combat boots and a black dress down to knees
Once she figures out this world, she wants to make the most of it. She wants control over a wide expanse of space. She is a creative type with a flair for the dramatic and a tendency to do everything, no matter how urgent, in as artful and intimidating a way as possible. This is, for obvious reasons, a bad idea, but the heart wants what the heart wants. She prefers to have dark clouds drifting a bit overhead at all times and keep to the shadows. Having given herself a lot of feline traits and a lot of magics, she thinks of herself as a wild cat, defending her territory. Most people rub her the wrong way just because she's an argumentative little s--- with violent tendencies.
also whenever we do start I'm not it -

Changed name: Momoiro
Changed sex: Female
Changed age: 17
Changed race: Cat Sith
Changed appearance:
Other: Quiet and a pacifist, she just wants to keep her house intact. While other try to take over the world around her, she stubbornly sticks to her single piece of territory, her manor. She has no desire to expand, no ambition. All she wants is her peace and her piano.
ugh okie
Momoiro sat on her bench, playing a soft melody. She could hear the wind running through the trees outside, along with the chirping of bird. That coupled with her music soothed her nerves, which she very much needed. She'd narrowly avoided confrontation with another individual this afternoon.
While others wanted to socialize, wished to conquer territory, or to find love and friends, she wished for nothing but her peace. -
man we jumped right in the middle here
Black Cat sat quietly on the ground, feeling the biting cold of the snow her cloud was raining down upon her. It touched only her arms, an invisible sort of umbrella sheltering her head, and the flakes touched down on her skin and melted, streaking tiny rivers down her wrists. She ran a finger through the accumulated blanket on the ground around her, drawing what was quickly taking the form of a feline kind of monster. She was wondering if she might want to take this form. Maybe a little more human. -
notice me

Momo's soft melody paused abruptly as she stood, and went off toward the door. She stared at the outside, as if anticipating someone.
All was peaceful, though, and the paranoid princess sat back down. -
(castieldammit)
The boredom came swiftly, out of nowhere, and before she had fully decided to leave, the snow around her had melted into the ground. In its place grew, with the speed of a season passing over the course of five seconds, a thick bed of brilliantly colored flowers. She stood up, swaying on her feet at the dizziness of the motion, and looked around. Perhaps she'd venture a little further from her territory again today.
She started off toward the north, where the sky was an obnoxious shade of pink. She didn't allow such stupidity in the town she had conquered, opting instead for a sky that stayed gray all times of day. -

Real name: Coraline Musser
Real sex: Female
Real age: 17
Real race: Human
Real appearance: Coraline would have everything she wanted in her appearance, if not for her weight. She's always been heavier than others, to the point of little self confidence. She has long, blonde, wavy hair, and bluish grey eyes. She's roughly 5'8", and her stomach, arms, and thighs are covered in stretch marks. She has pale skin, in part from being in the same place for such a long time.
Background: Raised by her widowed, disabled grandmother, Coraline spent most of her childhood acting like an adult in comparison to her classmates. However, her grandmother passed away shortly after her thirteenth birthday, forcing Coraline to move from the city where she was raised (which the viruses had not yet entirely spread to), to the city where the project was first started, so that she could live with her great aunt. As soon as she and her aunt found out about the project, they chose to send her into it. She was one of the first to join.
Changed name: Damien Musser
Changed sex: Male
Changed age: 19
Changed race: Homo Scandiacus (human/snowy owl hybrid)
Changed appearance: Damien has fluffy, but curly, black hair and tan skin. He's about 6'2", and slightly muscular. His eyes are a piercing yellow, and he always seems to be grinning. His wings are white, with brownish grey marking all over their tops.
At first, Damien was eager to meet others in the world that had been created for them. However, as time went on, and more started to appear, he became wary of the more violent youth, and went into solitude. He'd been hiding until the fighting stopped until recently, when another found him and forced him out of his safe haven. He's currently doing his best to avoid conflict, and hoping to find others who think like him. -
((Lovely~ Would you like to post now, Si, or would you like Milady to make her response first?))
