Zoey sighed shakingly. "I'm sorry my little bird...but it is true. They only wanted the originals from the start which is you and I. Do not cry little one...they are safe from anymore harm and so are you."

"They didn't do anything wrong...!" She cried. "Why did they have to die?!" She curled up on the couch and sniffed, wiping her tears away. "I'm sorry. I just...I never knew what happened to them. I never got to name them. I never got to watch them open their eyes..."

"Nor I for you dear..." she sighed lightly. "The men are monsters, but your Daniel and my..." She paused again, but continued. "He is boy who will treat you right, I can tell. You must understand that those men will never lay a hand on you again."

Saphirre sighed. "You're right. We're both safe. But if they ever lay a finger on you again tell me. We can do something."

Zoe chuckled lightly. "Alright deal little bird. Anymore questions before I must hang up?"

Saphirre thought. "Not really. Thank you for answering me." She said sincerely, smiling softly. "Bye Mom. Love you." She hung up the phone and sighed. She glanced at Ron before settling down in the couch, feeling herself start to drift off.

Zoey said her goodbyes and heard Saphirre hang up on the other end.
Ron sighed lightly and nuzzled her hand. "Saphirre, don't feel down about your kids. You'll have one with Daniel probably." -
Saphirre glanced at him. "What if he doesn't want that? I-I don't even know if I want that...I'd be so scared for the baby.." She murmured, stroking his head gently.

Ron purred lightly, killing his serious mode. "He cares deeply for his sister, hell the boy raised her when his father went away. He loves kids, any kind of kids, even animals." He tilted his head lightly. "Why would you be scared for the baby?"

Saphirre shrugged. "I-I just...I would be scared something would happen. Like with the others." She told him softly. "If something happened it would be my fault..." She sighed. "Sorry, I guess it doesn't make much sense. I'm just a little wary after what happened to the others I guess..." She trailed off. Saphirre wished she could just forget what Zoey had said about them being killed.

"Humans would say they were killed for the greater study of science and others, most of the population of earth would call it manslaughter. Remember Saphirre, you're not alone this time. Daniel is here to help you through it." He shrugged lightly. "He will protect you and keep you safe." He nuzzled her hand. "Now pet me until you fall asleep. You're gentler than Daniel."

Saphirre smiled softly. "You're right. Thanks Ron." She layed back down on the couch and ran her hand softly through his fur. Gradually her eyelids dropped and her strokes slowed until she was fast asleep on the couch.

Ron purred happily and saw she had fallen asleep. He hopped off the couch and went to the kitchen, eating the breakfast she didn't touch.

Saphirre wrapped her wings around herself almost like a blanket as she slept, curled up on the couch cushions. Her tearstained face looked much more relaxed and calm and her form rose and fell the slightest bit with each breath she took.

Ron watched her as she slept...and tried to get the syrup that was stucking to his face. Daniel came home after a few hours and smiled lighty, seeing that Saphirre was asleep on the couch. She looked adorable while she slept.
