S_E_ NoviceThere are secret experiments going on in a goverment testing facility. A time machene is stolen by a test subject, and they relize she was pregnant. They have to get her daughter Annie when she is young, so they can stop this forever. Annie, along with others, is sent back to the day she was bornbwhen she is 5. She grows up in hiding, raised by her young mother. Then, she gets sent back in time, and 10 year old Anna needs to find the others to save the world, and they have one week to break 19 year old Anna out of the testing facility.

(Stats are very useful, as they can settle things between characters and their players, instead of an argument erupting because some-body thinks their character should win/succeed.)

You know, a long character app isn't automatically better. Simplicity is key. A proper app should cover everything important about both the role play and the character. Things like eye colour or shape, ethnicity, sexuality: don't need to be included, as they're frivolous details that can be created when needed. As it is, they only clutter up what could be an easily understandable application.
Also, stats? Really? Without a system to support them, stats are just useless. They have no inherent worth, and would only exist to cause arguments.
On a separate note, I don't understand the premise. -
I know it isn't, but this 'app' is a character template for traditional RP's. And eye colour and shape? Ethnicity? Most of these you can tell of a person right when you meet them. How about we leave out Name, Gender, Height, and Hair color? I mean, they're only as important as the previous.
And stats? Stats are quite useful. Often, 'flame'-wars in The Stage are lit aflame by one person thinking their character should win a fight against another person, and vice-versa. Stats immediately clear these up as one person has a better Strength number than the other, or a lesser Stealth number than the other.
Got that? -
No offense but stats never seem to be of any use during the actual rp.
And obviously name and gender are more important than eye shape. -
You must not seem to get the idea of stats. Stats are 'hidden' statistics that decide whether one character wins, or another. Or you can just have two people arguing whether or not they attacked the other. Stats give a pre-defined decision in those situations. Sparing a minute or two seems to be the better choice.
Eye shape/color are just as essential as those two. As IHLAOY said once, a person's eye color could effect their life in several ways. Eye shape isn't as important, but still a useful detail.
Of course, if you have a picture, all of those are utterly useless. I just prefer having a defined character that's relatively easy to imagine, versus a face-less entity. -
How is eye shape useful? I'm just curious.
And in an rp like this (that has basically no plot but still) it doesn't seem like a battle is very likely, so again I don't know where stats would come in handy. -
Also, stats can aid in decisions out of battle, such as stealing things, shooting targets, carrying things, etc..

Not in many ways, just a detail that helps the reader imagine the character.
Read my last post. Also, really? Battle can pop out in any way feasible. This is just like a story-in-progress. Any-thing goes.
