"I'm Alex." He introduced himself with a smile. His expression then turned a little concerned. "Why're you still out here? Don't you have a place to stay?" It seemed a little odd that Shadow would stay out in the open. He seemed more like he wanted to be left alone at the moment.
Might poof, sorry if I do!) -
"Ummm.. Not really, no. I don't.. I can't really do much, because people are afraid of me. In fact, I usually have to steal food to live." He shrugged, staring at Alex. "No place, no job, not a lot of money, just me and my shadows. I kinda live in this area when I can't somewhere else."
-
Alex frowned, immediately feeling a pang of sympathy. "That's awful..." He was quiet for a moment, thinking. "I, uh, I have an extra room in my apartment." He shrugged. "I have food too. Do you...do you want to stay with me?" Alex knew it was a stupid move. Offering his home to a man he'd only just met. But Shadow wasn't just any man. He was different; he was special. And he was so alone, having to steal just to survive...

(dON'T ALEX HE USED TO BE A RAPIST
DON'T LET HIM IN YO HOUSE)
Shadow stared at the other man for a long minute. Alex was pretty nice, and he was the first to offer him a place. He didn't want to be a bother, but... "I'd love to. However, since I can't pay you back with cash, I can cook and I can do chores, so I'll be the hang around maid." He grinned at his own joke. -
Oh god XD
Alex grinned back. "Works for me." Looked like being kind to Shadow had given Alex some good karma, seeing as how he'd be getting a few free meals out of the whole thing. "This way then." He said, standing up off the bench and starting towards the edge of the park, back towards his apartment building. -
Oh nu~ don't stab people, it's not very nice.)
Alex titled his head at Shadow. "What? Something wrong?" He glanced down at his clothes; nothing seemed to be amiss there, they were just clothes. No soda stains or anything. He glanced back up at the other male curiously. -
(Shadow: i will stab you too e.e)
"Nothing's wrong." He quickly looked away, hands on his hips like a diva. "I was just trying to see if we're the same size clothing wise, that's all. He felt sick for not being able to come up with one of his famous excuses, but at least it wasn't like he was checking out the guy's body or anything. -
Nu. Bad Shadow. No stabbing. :I)
"Oh." Alex took a moment to glance at Shadow's body- in the least awkward "I'm totally checking you out" way as possible. After a second he nodded. "Yeah, we look about the same to me." He said with a little grin, turning and continuing to walk to the apartment building. -
(Shadow: ewe *raises knife*)
"Do we really? I'm surprised. I couldn't come to that conclusion that quickly." Okay, so maybe he had been cheking Alex out. He glanced around in slight curiousity. "How far from here is it?" -
Okie, okie, sorry...)
"It was just a guess." He shrugged. "And it's only a few minutes from the park, we're almost there." After a short walk the building came into view. He took the steps two at a time and opened the door for Shadow. "Here we are," -
(Shadow: That's what I thought.)
Shadow was cautious as he entered the building. He didn't smell bad, but then again, strange newcomers were always the talk of a building. His eyes scanned the area for other people. Luckily, he didn't see any- so far- and relaxed a bit. -
Shadow, you're mean. *sticks tongue out*)
Alex stepped over to the elevator and pressed the up button. As the ding sounded, the doors slid open and he stepped inside, gesturing for Shadow to follow him. He seemed so tense, Alex wondered if he'd ever get him to relax. -
(Shadow: I try so hard to be. :P)
Shadow took hint of the gesture and followed Alex without a word. He was having trouble relaxing, and that could become a threat to Alex if he wasn't used to tense people. He sighed, glancing at all of the doors. -
Why?)
As the door slid shut and they started moving up, he cast a slight smile in Shadow's direction. "No need to look so tense." He said, crossing his arms but still smiling. He really did want Shadow to feel comfortable with him and in the apartment, especially if he was going to live there now. -
(Shadow: Because I can.)
He pouted, crossing his arms. "I'm not tense." That was an obvious lie, but he didn't care. He was honestly used to being tense. It made him alert, in case he had to run or in case someone was threatening him. Ever since that accident.. His eyes glazed over and he looked pained.
